Hmk. I guess, I can't help you then. But well, that's about what I have now. Just that mine is a 10 yo laptop.
i find it funny that a program that renders wows file wont work on my comp, but wow will... :S. YiasEdit works perfectly. I guess my comp doesnt like opengl too much
/AFK shower
Btw are U Fix that Gobject problem? you know if klick some buildings get that Crash... :S
Any plan to port this over to directX? OpenGL doesn't like life in a virtual machine (I'm on a mac. Noggit will not work in Wine, as far as I can tell). I'd think that porting it over to dx would allow a larger percentage of the people here with crappy gfx chipsets to use noggit.![]()
Demonshade: Its the extended functions of OpenGL. Your system runs the normal OpenGL while some functions are not there. Noggit needs these functions for better rendering than YiasEdit does.
dansku17: Of course we will. As soon as we find the problem, there will be a fix for it. I currently only know that it appeared after some commit Tigurius made.
akspa420: Currently: Sadly no. There are many requests to use DX or something else, but currently we don't even have coders that know OpenGL well. Porting everything to DX without knowing that is just not doable. On the problem with having a mac: Did you try using parallels? I actually wonder that DX would work when OpenGL does not. The main problem of people not being able to use NoggIt is because of driver problems or these extended functions. We might try to use a workaround on runtime on some point. As said: Basic functions are working fine on these machines (you can see that on other apps) while some functions don't.
Noggit loads up to a white screen in Parallels. From the log, it looks like it gets past loading everything and just hangs on loading the graphics. I did find something called GLDirect, which essentially adds a newer opengl layer to whatever graphics driver parallels uses, but noggit just crashes with opengl-related errors.
Actually directX would be a good thing improving performance at some points. Lot of formats in WoW are made of directX-concepts. A good example is the textureformat BLP which uses the DXT-compression which is actually "made for directX".
akspa420: Being blank when loading mostly is due to a bookmarks.txt that is outdated..
cromon: Hast du denn viel Erfahrung in DX? Ich hab keine. Zum Glück unterstützt ja auch openGl die DXTC Formate.
Viel ist das falsche Wort, "nicht wenig" triffts wohl eher![]()
I have a question does this noggit support vista? because when it is completed =P i am gonna use it but if it doesnt support vista i cant use it, nice changes btw
OnlyPrime, yes it supports vista. It also supports windows 7, im running W7 and i used to use Vista.
And what does the log.txt tell you?
