    [Question] WMO changing.

When I want to change, let's say the Goldshire Inn into some other building, is it sufficient to swap around the WMOs? Or do I need to do some actual changes in the ADT files?

When I tried to just swap around, it crashed the game, but now when I try to restore the old WMOs in the MPQ, I only get the result that the game STILL crashes. Why is that? :S

Well the thing is that Inns etc have WMONAME_001.wmo WMONAME_002.wmo
etc etc. And just changing the WMONAME.wmo won't work.
The easiest way to do this is by changing the names in the ADT itself.
Don't try to restore. Just delete the edited patches.
And if you actually edited one of the patches the game needs (common-, patch-, patch-2.mpq) You have to do a repair.
Otherwise, just delete the patch and remake it. Fastest easiest way.
I recommend Cryects tools or Taliis (<--- better for adding/editing m2's imho)

Right, I did actually copy all the WMO-groups. Guess I'll take a look at the ADTs with Cryects.

And I did the change in the original common.MPQ. Does the repair reset the game to a previous version or anything like that?

EDIT: Why won't just restoring the old files solve it? Something to do with the signature when I recompress it? Or?

all you have do to is swap each RANDOMINN_001.wmo to whatever you want. dont just swap the root wmo cause it wont work like pullefjun. said. all u need to do is replace the ********_001, 002, etc.
