This is a very common problem mostly everyone is experiencing because of patch 2.0. M2's are atm can not be viewed by anyone, but you can still do model changes by:
1. If you need to export the M2, delete the M2Craft.dll file inside your MWS folder. You won't be able to see the M2 (it doesn't show up anything, just that normal green summoning pattern thing) but you can still export it and it should still work.
2. If for some different reason you do not want to delete M2Craft.dll, just don't click on the M2! Instead, export the folder in which the M2 is contained. You can delete any other files in the folder if you don't need them once exported to wherever. It won't mess up the M2.
About any other file giving you an error, I am not personally experiencing that, but here is a suggestion.
Go to the model editing section of this forum and click on the model editing programs sticky. Download A_Snake's patch of My Warcraft Studio and use that My Warcraft Studio.
If this does not work with any other file, and you are still experiencing this error, I can't do much else. I will look into it more if you post anything about this still not working.
