Problems getting ItemDisplayInfo.dbc to commit changes.

Hi, I'm not sure where I should have put this so I apologize in advance if it's misplaced.

I've copied the Thunderfury entry 30606 to a new entry at the bottom and changed the ID to my own new number (60001). It's copied verbatim except for the displayID. I've checked to make sure it's in the file and I know it is. Then copied it over to my dbc folder for my server.

Referrencing it on an item ingame however has not worked at all. The item is coming up as ? icon and no model at all. It's as if Mangos just isn't seeing the new lines. It works fine when I change an existing entry. Any idea if I am missing something in this process?

edit: Grr I meant to put a [Question] in the topic. Sorry. And also obviously I'll give rep for any insight unto this problem.

Mmh, mangos does not have to see it in the file. Its all clientside.

So you gave a new item the displayID you added. Do you have the file in your Data\ too? Or did you just moved it into the server/dbc?

Re: Problems getting ItemDisplayInfo.dbc to commit changes.

Ironically I was in the middle of trying it clientside. Though, WoW is telling me the DBC file is corrupt no matter how I load it.

Tried: DBCUtil to convert to CSV, edit in Excel, reconvert to DBC.
Tried: DBC Editor to modify the file directly.

Seems either way WoW is telling me the file is corrupt on startup. I'm guessing it's checking CRC for the file to see if it has been tampered?

Edit: To answer your question, I have tried putting it in the World of Warcraft/Data/DBFilesClient/ and tried enUS/DBFilesClient/ as well as the root of Data/. But it doesn't seem to want to load it when it's not packed in an mpq (which is where I was receiving the corruption error on startup.)

The problem is your rep, not mine ^^ You have to get at least 5 rep to rep others.
