How do I begin?

(Just a heads up, ive never used these programs before)

I want my male orc warrior to be a male blood elf warrior but I can't seem to get this down right.... I downloaded mywarcraft studios but when ever I use it and go into data files .. none of the files that people show show up on mine.. the only MPQ files I have are common.MPQ, expansion.MPQ, and patch.MPQ. Anyone know if im missing something?

Everything be there. Follow the guides posted on this site. Also, you won't be able to use most edits on live servers, till a fix is released to the public.

the thing is that about 90% of all guides are posted pre-2.3 and they include patches that have now been putinto one patch. it's now common.mpq/expansion.mpq/patch.mpq HF

common.mpq and expansion.mpq are only updated at major patches. they should only be modified on patches like 2.0, 3.0 etc. the files will most likely merge to patch.mpq.
