    A little help

Hello all, I have a 2.4.3 wow server up and running with mangos, I have been trying to do something special for my lady she's always wanted and undead pally and I'm haveing a bit of a problem with it. I have my data base updated to allow the undead pally, stats, start loc and all that but I can't seem to get it so you can select pally from the character create screen for then undead. I have tryed making a custom mpq but all it does is crash wow saying that the .dbc are corrupt. Any help would be awesome!

You did use the wrong version of the DBC file.

Read here the Extracting the MPQs part. Special the quote box.

Modcraft - View topic - 02 - Setup the tutorial material

Also you need to add the DBC to client patch AND serverside.

Thank you for the response I checked it out and sadly I followed the steps and still getting the crash from the custom patch no matter how I make it here's the steps that I follow.

    1. Opening local-enGB.MPQ and extracting charbaseinfo.dbc
    2. Dragging it to DBCUtil making it a .csv
    3. Opening the new charbaseinfo.dbc.csv with CSVed
    4. Adding 5 in the first column and 2 in the second for allowing the undead pally
    5. Saving it and dragging it back over to DBCUtil to turn it back to dbc
    6. Opening MPQEditer, new MPQ->Name patch-enGB-3.MPQ->build MPQ from dir->2.0 format->exiting
    7. Putting the new .MPQ In the wow/data/enGB

That's it and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong all the tuts I find are for 3.x.x and up, not sure if I need a fixed exe, I have edited my exe to pass the glue check.
I have also tryed using Tallis to edit the .dbc but same thing happens. I have the server updated with the files. I also know the folder in the .MPQ has to be exactly DBFilesClient/charbaseinfo.dbc

Any suggestions would be awesome I'm kinda at a loss here, and I might be trying to do something that I don't need to do to get to pally icon to show up for the undead.

THis tutorial tells you to extract ALL MPQs in the there written order. The files can ge more then on time and also in different versions inside the patches. You properyl took the wrong one. If you extract them all on your harddisc you have only the latest file at the end. So never again start with wrong one.
If your space is low you can after extraction delete the map folder again to free some again.

To test just extract the DBC you start with and add to patch without any change. If wow crash also its simple the wrong file.

Also why dont u use a DBC Editor like MyDBCEdit?

Also if you realy took the name patch-enGB-3.MPQ you trashed your wow Its a blizzard MPQ and if you have overwritten it, that could be a good reason for a wow crash.

patch-enGB-4.MPQ is the first name you can use.

Also this MPQ must contain the subfolder DBFilesCleint at the end. Else it will also not work.

Alrighty I have the right files, I made the custom patch as you suggested with the 2 unmodified files and it loaded it just fine. I modified the two files to what I needed and loaded wow and it crashed. The dbc editer that you suggested would not load the the two files CharBaseInfo and CharStartOutfit.dbc snagged MyDBCEdit from here Modcraft - View topic - [TOOL]*[DBC] mydbceditor v1.2.2
