Question - area editing in instances

Long ago there was a model edit (an .mpq file to place in folder) that chnaged the stratholme's instance to include a way "underground" to allow people to skip right to last boas.

Since then i know lots of technical changes have occured, so my question is this:

Is it possible right now to model edit a door/hole/staircase/etc into one of wow's instances to allow you to skip bosses etc? How detectable/risky is it. How hard is it to make?

    Cheers for all info!
