    Invisible textures

Well, textures arent really my thing, ive done like 2 edits ever that involve texture swapping, and i'm now wondering how i would produce an invisible texture, i think its a color, but i cant get any results so far, anyone know?

EDIT, ok, i got an answer, could someone tell me how to fill the alpha channel of the file with black, i am not familiar with photoshop and the only result i can produce is getting the texture green ingame.

    Re: Invisible textures

you just make a new file (256*256) and fill the alpha channel full black. save it. convert it. have fun on the invisible thing.

    Re: Invisible textures

It depends sometimes its a color like brown and sometimes its like black, and sometimes you have to convert it with transparency in the origional file but newer versions of photoshop dont preserve targa transparency so it really depends on what your trying to edit

    Re: Invisible textures

    - which texture you are changing this to?
    - if its a WMO referenced texture, then you have to modify the material-chunk for that texture. on a m2 it might be that the texture is non-alpha too.

    Re: Invisible textures

adt, i edited one of the adt's chunks so that it would call on a custom texture at first, tileset\custom.blp then i tried replacing elwynncobblestone with your texture, which like the 20 other edits ive done have produced no results, i cannot make texture substitutions, i never could, so i always just edit the files that call on the textures to call on my custom ones instead.

srry if i lost ya there, lol.

    Re: Invisible textures

The texture you replace has to be a texture that already is somewhat transparent, you cant just replace a tileset texture with this one and make it look like your walking on nothing, if thats even what your talking about

    Re: Invisible textures

no, i guess this would be a good time to mention i have never, ever substituted a .blp file by just renaming, i have to go into stuff with a hex editor and everything, i use my own valid file, and pack it in the correct location but there is no change whatsoever, i haven't been able to after tbc but i can use other peoples edits.
