    [Assistance] Model editing tools

Hey there my dear tool developers!

I have come to you on my knees, as I seek your guidance! I want to give something back, to those who has given me so much! Because honestly, lets face it. We need more model editing tools
Well anyway, I just wanna know if there's anyone out there who knows how I can make programs for model editing in Visual Basic 2008? Don't come here and say that can't be done, cause I know SomeWhiteGuy did it. He made the It was with Visual Basic 6.0 though, but 2008 is newer, so should work better. Anyway, is there anyone who knows how this can be accomplished? I do have some pretty good pre-experience with Visual Basic :P

Basically I just want to make a tool that does something like Taliis, except it should only be used for add/edit/delete objects and WMOs. If there is someone who would help me learning how it can be done, I'd be very happy :> And perhaps Ill let you pick a +Rep cookie from the Rep Cookie Jar!

    Thanks
    Newtech

@Edit: Even if you just have a VB source code from a tool, it'd be nice if I could see it x) Anything is welcome :>

Fileinfo and loadinfo already do that job. Also, Taliis does. So why do you want another tool doing the exact same thing? Do something new, not something being done ten times before.
WoW.Dev Wiki may provide some aid while developing tools.

Well, true. I'm also mainly doing this to learn how to create model editing tools in VB, not to specifically make another copy of a program. Also, I'd like to make a few tweaks to the Fileinfo and Loadinfo, and also make it an UI program. :P But yes, I see there's quite some nice info on that Wiki :>

    Thanks

BTW: VB is most likely one of the worst choice for anything. Like C# and all other .NET languages. Its awful with that runtime shit and being windows only. Better learn some language being platform independant.

Yeah okey, I get it, you want me to learn C++. I've been told it takes like 5 years to learn it fully but then... I might aswell just get started x) Until I learn it fully, I don't suppose anyone knows anything about making these tools in VB anyways? x)

    Thanks

There is nothing that special about "these tools" in VB.. Open a file, read data from the file, edit things, write the file.

Yeah. Just study the structure of the filetype u want to edit... Then write code that can edit the specific offsets u want to read/write and u got it. And ofcourse can also be done in vb.net. Wouldn't suggest it though...
