Display ID switching using a Hex Editor & ItemCache no longer Possible? Anyone Know?

So, based on the feedback I've had thus far here: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...-methinks.html It seems like Display ID switching in the Item Cache using a hex editor may no longer be possible. Has anyone tried it since Cata? This was my favorite way of modding, so simple and clean and fast. I hope it's still possible, but without a proper file to open in a Hex Editor, maybe it's a thing of the past.

Or maybe my system is freakishly lacking an itemcache file. >_> You tell me!

Found this thread: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...-4-0-3a-8.html -- It accomplishes it. Not manually using a hex editor, but at least it works in Cata.
