Still possible to get to GM Island using modeledits?

Aight! I've never been to GM Island, and since Cataclysm is coming near (with the possible remove of it), I want to experience it at least once myself.

I've tried for ages using the engineering bug/glitch/exploit (jumping from Darna using rocketboots and then chutes), but I never made it.

All the path's currently available on the forum contains the .adt that warden scans for, and thus, ban-able, is there anyone sitting on a path that won't slam you in the face and ban you? I'm using it for my own needs, and only because I want to see it at least once.

Sorry for bringing up a "old boring island that everyone already been to" - topic, but I haven't been there yet! =)

Easy way to go there:
Install a private server for yourself
type: Arcemu: .rec port gmisland
Mangos/Trinity: .tele gmisland

Good luck xD
(on retail there isn;t anything more then whats on private servers)

I've seen videos of it, and I know the Island is empty, but I still want to see it myself and explore it, I have no experience or even clues on how to install a private server, or on even how to connect to one, I only know the basic "rename mpq to MPQ and put it in data-folder" modelchanging-bit

I would suggest looking at the emulator section for a repack.
They are a sort of 1 click set up Private servers.
Just change your realmlist (located at World of Warcraft\Data\enUS (or enGB))
to set realmlist 127.0.0.1

I'll try looking into it, but I'm still open for suggestions on how to get there "live".

If you have a 80 with rocket boots and slow fall its apparently possible that method
Or, you can use wowinfinity which ive done a hundred times with trials. Love making 15 trials and getting them all there then saying on my main "OMG LOOK THERES LVL1's at GM ISLAND"
always gets ppls attention and its fun dueling but gets boring fast seeing as theres fack all there. also if you got hacks you can check out the "white room" but still nothing special
But from what ive heard, certain MPQ's are detectable and bannable

If you want, you can come on my server for a day and explore more places than just gm island, theres 3 gm areas and emerald dream on my server. All of them are untouched, so hurry plans are set for them, contact me using hamachi. Network is X.conTeam and pass is 123xcon. Team is full. If you want to stay we are making out our cata like places. We already have a new orgrimmar metal wall. Tho you wont be able to use it cause ull have to agree to terms of usage saying u cant use the wall outside of the server. But if you just want to explore ur more than welcome

Live is really hard to get to now, its almost impossible, gms check it every hour. My friend got banned for going there for 4 months cause he only went there and got caught right away. But besides that, engineering is how he got there, theres no real fast way to get there
