    Doomed by Mac?

Since I found this website, I have loved model editing. I really only used simple methods like hex workshop, and more recently glitchy's heaven sent MES. But I recently bought an iMac, and I love it. The only problem is that I have to find a way to successfully get back to model editing on this thing. I have tried without success to run glitchy MES on a mac due to Darwine popping up errors. This weekend I will be attempting to use cryects tools for mac that was recently posted. But all I'm really looking to do is weapon/armor/mount swapping really so far, just simple edits. Have I doomed myself by buying a mac?

le sigh, I knew it. Well, I really enjoy some of the work people post here, and I really enjoyed model editing. So if there are any in depth methods or programs I can learn on this mac, I'm willing to learn. Like I said, I guess I'll try and learn cyrtecs tools first. Thanks for reply.

Sadly, programmers are just too lazy to make an alternative for Mac. They probably don't care enough, or they lack the coding skills. (lol)
Anyways, there are other ways.. Get your hands on a copy of Windows. (A version you would mind using, Windows XP, Vista or Win7), and install Boot Camp
This program was designed to give an amount of space to an 'Alternative' boot. In short; You set the amount of Gigabytes for the Windows Harddrive to have, and select windows at Bootup.
There is an FAQ on that site if your confused.

I'll be honest with you, I would TOTALLY do this myself, but I can't find my old windows disks, plus I Hate torrenting stuff.. was never my thing.
So if you do choose this option, good luck with getting the program installed, and Windows installed as well.

EDIT: If you will be using Windows 7, you must have Snow Leopard Installed on your Mac OS X.

Pro tip, everything I've done has been on a mac. I don't think I've doomed myself.

One other solution for us Mac users is to grab a virtual machine application like Parallels, or VMWare Fusion, and install Windows inside a VM. I personally use both, but prefer Parallels over VMWare. I've been running WoW and several editing tools within VM's for years now. You have not doomed yourself by purchasing a mac... Or at least that's what I keep telling myself :P

Thank you for the replies. Yea, I heard about parallels, and boot camp looks interesting. I might as well just pic up windows for this comp, I already have Office installed. Thanks again, +Rep for the advice

So, have you been using the same methods as akspa420 and hypno suggested, the virtual machine apps. Or are you actually making the edits using the apple OS?

Both. I have dual booted XP, and I have most of my own software I've made for model editing.

I really do need to buy windows disks.. I HATE my PC. Horrible graphics card, only 2gb of ram, only 20gb HDD left, etc.
However, If I setup bootcamp, I can start my Machinimas again, as well as (Woo) 60fps in Noggit.
