    Still possible on a mac!?

I checked out the threat at the top, with the links to programs that allowed model editing on a mac. ( programs that allowed you to actually place the custom patches in the data folder and etc.)

I searched through that thread, but couldn't verify if those mac programs are up to date, or if model editing on mac, still works at all.

Is it still/ was ever possible to swap my heirloom axe with a cool epic weapon, or change my race, or make my warlock have greenfire, on a mac!!!!?!!

Or is it time to reload WoW on my less-than- awesome windows labtop?

P.S. I'm not really an expert on model editing, so if this is totally noob, I searched around everywhere, but couldn't find a straight answer.

    Thanks!

You can always do the edits on a Windows OS and then port them to a Mac.

As far as swapping your heirloom axe with a "cool epic weapon," please mention the name of your axe and the name of the weapon you would like it to be replaced with. If you could also please let me know if you are running a version of the game other than the official release (3.3.5), that would be greatly appreciated.

Changing your race is a tad bit more difficult, and would require more effort on my part, so I'll leave that to you. :P

As for making your warlock have "greenfire," I'm afraid you'll have to be a bit more descriptive. I'm not sure what you're requesting.

Note: Alternatively, you can always run a virtual OS (VMWare is pretty good) of Windows on your Mac.

I think you can still do model swaps with the currents programs, since you only need to unpack the MPQ, rename a few things and pack it up again. I've no idea if there are any programs on the Mac to edit DBCs, but if there are, you can do the greenfire swap as well, and lots of others as well. (I'm assuming Greenfire is some sort of enchant?)

I'm running the released and official patch 3.3.5. nothing custom or different.

The green fire for warlock was a release on here, but I can't find the thread, it's no big, I was just using it as an example.

As for the heirloom weapon, I wanted to change the heirloom axe ( Bloodied Arcanite Ripper) into http://www.mmowned.com/forums/world-...ter-blade.html

I know that it explains how, but I just wanted to see if this was possible on a mac, I am indeed reading literate. And I'm still noobish about model swapping, so.. yea .

Yeah, that should definitely be possible. You'll need a MoPaQ (MPQ) editor to make the changes. I recommend either Ladik's MPQ Editor (the best editor I've ever seen for MPQ's) or MyWarcraftStudio.

Edit: Nevermind... apparently those are Windows-only. You'll need to use a virtual PC (software on your computer that acts as a different OS) or find an alternative MPQ editor.

Anyways, here's the model swap: Filebeam - Beam up that File Scottie!

The bloodied Arcanite ripper to that custom sword yes?

I downloaded it, and converted it into an MPQ, and renamed it "patch-6.MPQ"
I moved it into the Data folder, but it the model still isn't swapped.

Maybe I did something wrong? I know that I can swap weapon models, because I tested a weapon model swap just yesterday.

    Not sure what's up.

    I'll check it again.

Edit: No, it most definitely does work. Did you make sure that you extracted the .7z archive? I have tested the model on a 3.3.3a test server as well as the live server.

Edit 2: You also don't have to rename it to patch-6 unless you already have a patch named patch-g. The way Blizzard does the patches is in alphabetical order, with numbers first (same way as in ASCII).
