Somebody needs to spill the beans. DB Map Editing

Well, we all know that DB editing is a hard thing to do, and that it is a hard thing to aquire knowledge on... but everybody knows about it. The only people who don't are not able to know, because nobody wants to share the information? I think that is pitiful. I declare that somebody needs to tell us noobs how to edit the maps.

Please do not judge me by my "New Member Tag" I have searched the guides and stickies they are outdated and or off topic

Note: I can't keep a straight face...lol If there is something wrong with this thread, like where it is, or if it's not nice enough, feel free to let me know and I will copy and paste/edit it. Of course, you would have to have an acceptable reason to shut me up...unless you're a mod

Search through the list of guides and i guarantee that you will find one relative to DB Map Editing. I know for a fact that i included one relative to this.

I'm sorry, I've already looked there. If you want to know the problem, it is quite simple, the model editing guides are outdated. Mywarcraft studio was back when there was only one common.mpq (now there are two, mywarcraft studio does not support what is in the second one, which has all of the actual models). Noggit is outdated. Nobody has posted a good taliis guide, I don't even know what it does (all of the taliis guides have noggit). Cyrect's tools are used with noggit, which is again... outdated. If these are all of the guides on the web, I am doubting that 3.2.0 world editing is possible...

Well, you could explore on your own, CategoryBC - WoW.Dev Wiki Read it so you understant the DBCs You can change water, chars, achivements. Even private servers GO spawn list can be modifyed so you can spawn models of your own choise to a private server... But if your dont know much about DBCs, i suggest following guides here on mmowned first. Good luck.


BTW...Noggit outdated? noo even 2.xx noggit can handle 3.xx models if you know how, even without codeing, and there isn't needed any guides to cryect tools, run them in CMD, then it gives you all the info you need. Taliis is like cryect tools, just with interface, and some more functions...
