[Question(s)] Weapon edits m2 obj 3ds skins etc

Okay so i got more then a month till i gotta be back at school and nothing to do.

So i wanted to recolor my gear, if i want to recolor i just gotta extract the .blp's and recolor them and then place em in a new MPQ file with the exact path and im good to go or is there anything else i gotta do?

And also to find the models for gear where do i look? just found the skins no models.

Any help is appreciated and negative posts do not belong here.

Im NOT looking for WDB edits i know how to do those changes.

Your gear models is *.m2 format. Its easy to edit, use modelviewer to save it as MS3D (Milkshape 3D) use milkshape(edit or convert to another format) i converted it to obj, then used 3ds max to edit it. import into wow useing glitchys mes. if thats not working, then theres other programs for OBJ/3DS - M2 converting around this forum.

Ye i have 3ds MAX, but wow got several MPQ archievs and ive been sitting and searching through some of them but i still cant find any .M2 for weapons, which is my current prob. And if it isnt more to know about the XXX to ZZZ and back again im pretty much good to go just gotta find those models, and after posting this i found it. Now its back to action, thanks for the help.

From what you've saıd ı'd say yeah you're good to go (you need to convert the .blp ınto a format whıch you can wrok wıth aka .jpeg or .bmp vıa a pıece of software such as BLP Convertor or somethıng sımılar, although ı'm presumıng you've already done that)

Ye i will upload my shitty edit when i can, atleast i know how now. the blp > png works and just editing the png in PS is easy.
