I seem to have run into a major snag in my novice attempts at model editing. I've changed some BLPs using BLPConverters to turn them into PNGs or TGAs, and edited them, returned them to BLP form, and placing them in an MPQ file. I've also changed some hair color in the same patch.
Everything appeared to be working. In WoW Model Viewer, all my edited textures appear correctly when the MPQs are loaded. So I decided to take my work-in-progress and see how it's been coming out in-game, using Glitchy's Model Swapper to turn my current items into my edited items.
The patch is properly named patch-X.MPQ. The images show up in MyWarCraftStudio. The game starts...
Then I found that none of my edited BLP textures on items were displaying! If I had edited the texture, it would not appear at all! Strangely enough, the edited hair colors were working fine! Much to my dismay I found my vest was totally invisible, the edited shoes had no leg portion, my gloves were lacking a hand portion, and my shirt was missing the upper torso region.
What could be causing this? I edited the images and turned them back to BLPs, I placed them in an MPQ with the correct treepaths, and the Model Viewer shows all should be well! Please help!
Edit: Figuring it could possibly be an issue with swapping models, I reverted the swaps then found the actual edited items in-game. Still didn't work.
