    Model edit on Mac: problems.

    Hi everybody.

I'm playing a Night Elf female since 3 years now, and I really want to model edit it into UD.
So i've decided to try it and i've downloaded MPQ Extractor / DropMPQ / WowModelView.

I've check the forum but whith my super english (cause I'm french...) I've got some problems:

    What I've done:
    -Extracted [Common.MPQ] [Patch.MPQ] [Patch-2.MPQ].
-Copy all files Common/characters/SCOURGE and Patch/Characters/Scourge to a new folder in Patch-2/Characters/NightElf.
-Then I've use DropMPQ to create a new [Patch-2.MPQ] (with the new Characters/NightElf inside).
-And when i start Wow, my Night elf have just a new hair's color, nothing else.

If anybody can help me, maybe I've missed a thing.

    (Sorry for my english).

    Model edit on Mac: problems.

Your english is fine. But what I'm wondering, is are you sure that it compiled correctly? If the compiler is out of date (such as 2.4.3) then it will NOT compile (and in this case, it will compile just the 2.4.3 stuff because thats all that it knows to compile. Also, devklog.com hasn't been updated since early 2008...

    I use DropMPQ version 0.7.1.

It's not an outdated version but I sincerely think that there is more than one folder to modify for Model Edit Character to Character.

As far as I know model editing is not possible on a mac, i used to use a mac until recently and could never do it. All you can do is change skins, so clothing and skin etc. but you cannot actually change the size of anything or the actions they perform etc.

ex. you could probably find a way of making your character look like it changed race but it would never use the right emotes be the right size etc. So you may want to look for some skin editors instead of model editors.
