[Question] Mount Swapping

Hey MMOwned. I have lately been trying to swap my Swift Yellow Wind Rider into both a Frost Wyrm and a Black Proto-Drake. I've been doing it with swapping .m2 filed and .blp files with MWCS, but when I mount it ingame it either appears as my normal mount or just a big artifact mount.

In the pic you can see my failed edit for Blac Proto-Drake and the drake itself on the right side of the mount. It looks pretty much the same with Frost Wyrm.

I also tried DBC editing, but I didn't understand how I would find what I was going to edit, nor what I was gonna change it into.

If someone could help me out here, I would appriciate it.

This artifact mounts as you said is because you dind't put the .skin file of the model into your patch mpq.

I am having this same problem with changing my Blue Windrider into a Netherdrake and my Swift Green Hawkstrider into a Raven Lord. I tried looking into the .skin files, but there are more .skin files for the Netherdrake and Raven Lord than there are for the Windrider and Hawkstrider.

If there is a way to merge these two, I do not know it.

I recommend DBC editting to swap your mount in this scenario.
