    Character Animation question

Hey, I was wondering if it was possible to change certain spell casting animation (like cast spell omni). Like changing Blast Wave's SpellCastOmni to BattleRoar or something.

    Maybe DBC?

    Thankee in advance.

Yes, you can change spells. I'm brand new at editing, so I don't know much, but while I was playing around I was able to edit some spells. Unfortunately I don't know how to put my models into WoW so you'll have to do that on your own. If you know how to put models into WoW please tell me. ^_^

Yes, I know how to change models, my question was the casting animation.

When blast wave is cast, the model of the caster plays an animation called SpellCastOmni, I was wondering if I could switch this animation to BattleRoar, so it looks like I'm roaring while I cast it.
(Battle roar is a quicker, more solid version of the emote roar, it's used in a warrior's shouts)

Ooh- you can? How would you edit the Blood Elf Male casting animations? They're awful, at the moment.

    Re: Character Animation question

He is asking what you would change to do that, not where you would put it afterwords and if you could change it.

i.e. WTB instructions on how to change the animations, not how to implement them once they are changed.

I've already started on the quest to "learn myself" like I did the armor editing (and texture editing...ah yes..I remember when all the textures I worked so hard for turned out completely no-color black)

Currently, I've tried several programs to try to edit the DBC so I can make the "Spell Cast Omni" have the same integer information as "Battle Roar" but I can't seem to find a way to keep all the names of the DBC from turning to #ERROR when I load the edited DBC to the folder. I *will* find out how to make my character roar while using an omni spell!

    I WILL!

Macroman earns my respect. I applaud you for your efforts. He thinks for himself and is always seemingly willing to try stuff out on his own. Chances are he'll get there, and I'm already sure he's better than most of you people who just want step by step instructions to do things. Lazy bastards.

Though I'm not the best of editors (yet) I fully support this. Kudos to you Macro and goodluck on your endeavors.

    Re: Character Animation question

Oddly enough I know one way you would do this. It requires 3ds max though... I read a book about this and watched a few tutorials of people making MMOs with it. Character animation is one of the things you do with it. I figure you would somehow switch the animations with spell cast omni and battle roar. I'd try to help figure it out but I dont have 3ds max.

Good luck with the DBC editing, you're persistant and I'm sure you'll get it.

Can you tell me the major flaw in your idea here? Think about it for a bit.. It's a big one.
