map.dbc areatable.dbc areatrigger.dbc help!

Areatable.dbc Areatrigger.dbc Map.dbc

Question 1: are these dbc files client or server side. if server then my question ends here and no further reading is neccessary.

Question 2: map.dbc has reff id's to areatable. if i change shit in areatable as well as map.dbc and have the changes linked through reff id in map.dbc to the changes ive done in areatable, for instance changing what map should be loaded, can you alter which map loads?

Question 3: if you change shit in map.dbc areatable.dbc areatrigger.dbc and perhaps even areaPOI.dbc if needed, is there anything else that links these files together or any other locations that would have reff id's reffereing to these files that i would need to change for a total effect.

Question 4: If a map in map.dbc or areatable.dbc has multiple listings for its map id and the map you are attempting to work on has only 1, how should you go about making the conversion between these 2 maps. would you need to add a new string?

these are my questions for now and trust me ive been working non stop for over a week racking my brain on these concepts though im sure others have already either failed or succeded in this area. If it turns out they are server side then... well... gay.

1. Client-side, but big changes may need tp be applied server-side also (emus use DBCs)
2. Yes, see this for more detailed information than wowdev.org. You should only need to change map.dbc to change which map is loaded.
3. Depending on what you change, you may need to alter AreaTable.dbc
4. Explain a bit more, please. Are you trying to swap 2 maps? If so, then you can always just swap ADTs...

i dont want to do an adt edit becuase it doesnt really change what im looking for. i do not want to be on that map id anymore when i switch what i want to switch. if i switch rfc with scholo, i want me to enter the instance trigger, and with swapping the information of what map id and files should load for that trigger in dbc files i want you to no longer be on map 389 *rfc* but enter scholo map id though you went through the rfc portal.

now at first glance that looks as if i want to change the instance trigger its self, but i want the instance trigger to take you to 389 i just dont want map 389 to be rfc if you catch my drift.
