    [Question] Finding this specific beam model



    I really need to know what this model is, I just...need to know it for model editing purposes sake! this spell resembles the Hadron Cannon alot in code geass and I want to edit with it ^^ rep cookies will be given x3 whenever I has the chance, I just need this model treepath badly.

    \Cool so I was right, this beam is...not findable and doesn't have a model and is just a server side thing 0.o

    I found out the spell is in Spell.dbc with the ID of 40827. I believe the beam you see there consists of BLPs and that's why it's a bit hard to find the whole spell. It's in so many different DBCs. I'll try looking into it more closely.

    Either way, I think there's no way to simply provide you with the model path. You'll have to do the edit(s) with DBC. Then again if you just want to swap another spell to this, it shouldn't really be harder than a normal spell swap.

    Thx, I however found the treepath of the .BLP , textures\SpellChainEffects\Beam_Red.blp in Common.mpq , I don't know if it need a specific model for the beam or not but at least I'm one step closer to a bit. My view on it is that it must have a other beam, unless it uses the same model as drain life but then with another texture. Gonna try tomorrow swapping drain life with another m2 spell, then casting sinful beam again to see if it is true, but thx for the help guys.

    ... There is no model. Its defined in Spell.dbc if a beam is used. If yes, it links to other DBCs and somewhen ends in the SpellChainEffects.dbc. Don't ask me, how. Don't ask me, where the values like the beam-count etc are stored. Most likely that DBC.
