    DBC editing gone wrong

Hello, i just recently switched my nightelf mount to the paladin epic mount using the DBC method. The model change is fine. However any bloodelf and draenei are showing up as cubes. I didnt change any enteries in the dbc file regarding those npc. So why is this happening? and how can i go about fixing this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: DBC editing gone wrong

did you somehow mix up versions of the DBC file you're using? Are any other new models not showing up or just Belfs and Draineis? NPCs and Players or just one or the other?

I'm guessing you either used a wrong number so something is being overwritten, or you switched in a bad DBC file.

    Re: DBC editing gone wrong

What i did was extract the dbc file, edit the entries in. Then make a patch-enUS-3.mpq with the new dbc file.

Only bloodelf and draenei npc are showing up as cubes, player characters are fine.

I have done several model edits, just making a new patch-#.mpq and everything seems to work out fine. Is there a different procedure required for .dbc files?

Try to get the files out of the patch-2.MPQ (i think) what ever is the most current blizzard patch MPQ becasue they may have redone some of the lookups on the DBC

The blue/white box is because you are using old DBC's or you messed with and deleted values.

    Yup

always use the latest file available to you, which is in patch-2, then patch, etc.

    Re: DBC editing gone wrong

That would be the problem, i was getting the dbc file out of patch-enUS.mpq, instead of patch-enUS-2.mpq.

    Thanks for all help
