Can someone provides a link with detailed step-by-step instruction on how to do spellswap edits manually (ie. not using glitchy's MES)?
+Rep for a good guide.

Download the MPQeditor and wow model viewer.
Extract the SPELLS folder to some other folder on your computer.
Find the spell graphics you want to change (X) and what you want to change them to (Y) using the viewer and note their names.
Find the same file names in the SPELLS folder and drag/drop them into the MPQeditor.
Rename the file (Y) to the file you're changing it in to (X).
Save and name the mpq file patch-X.MPQ
Enjoy.
To extract the SPELLS folder, you use WoWmodelviewer and use 'Export Model' option right?
I used the MPQeditor. Just open the common.mpq and right click on the "SPELLS" folder and choose "Extract"
It'll ask you where, and then you just tell it your desktop or something... it should extract the entire folder in a folder format (in other words it won't just put 40000 icons on your desktop).
I'm trying to find the pvp trinket effect under spells but I'm not sure what it's called.
I think it shares the same animation with Dispel magic?
It's probably either that, or one of the other dispells like purge or cure disease. They have about 5 similar graphics for that. It's a lot of trial and error, logging on and off.
I got as far as the drag-dropping into the mpq editor bit but I keep getting an error code 87 (using Ladik's MPQ editor)
Can't find anything on google about it :-/
EDIT: Nvm, I figured it out![]()
Coo... Sorry, I got distracted watching the movie at the bottom of the window.![]()
I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong because of my lack of skills so would anyone be keen to do some manual spellswaps for +Rep?
Got the message, but I'm too low to send PM's most annoying. I'll be glad to help, just tell me a little more about the way you want things to lookl. Send me an email to [email protected]
