Itemcache editing not working?

I tried using hex editor, but nothing I changed worked.
I mainly switched Blade of Infamy's code with Warlgaive's of Azzinoths and it did not show up in game.

So I am curious if their are other ways of item changing other than this particular method. Any responses are greatly appreciated. I am trying to get into model editing, and hopefully not be a leecher anymore =)
