[QUESTION] Reskin uncorrupted Ashbringer - req help

So I'm back again with another error that's propably going to be a pain in the ass for someone to solve, but I ensure you, rep will be handed out accordingly!

    By Pebbladin

So this is how the skin looks. I've named it; Sword_2H_Ashbringercorrupt.blp and have added it to a .MPQ accordingly. It works on the default model without errors; well, except for the 'error' with Ashbringer skin on the Corrupted Ashbringer.

Anyway, when I swap out sword_2h_ashbringercorrupt.m2 to sword_2h_ashbringer.m2, ofcourse renaming the sword_2h_ashbringer.m2 to sword_2h_ashbringercorrupt.m2, it will not load the texture. Is the uncorrupted Ashbringer impossible to reskin?

I could help you if you rephrase your description. I'm not sure why you are talking about the .m2 for a reskin. I assume you updated the .blp. Just add the .blp to a custom patch and it should work.

Well because there is no Ashbringer ingame, just the corrupted one; so to be able to use the uncorrupted I had to swap .m2 file aswell.

Did you modify the structure of the corrupted ashbringer in anyway (with 3ds max or something) or is this just a reskin. If you reskin it, you just need to replace the .blp. You will have to replace the corrupted ashbringer with this. You don't make new weapons (your just modifying the old one).

There are 2 ashbringer; ashbringer and ashbringercorrupt. I am making a reskin for the ashbringercorrupt with the model of ashbringer, and that doesnt seem to work very well

    1) extract the corrupted ashbringer .m2
    2) convert your custom .png to a .blp
    3) put the .m2 under the path for the ashbringer
    4) put the .blp under the path of the corrupted ashbringer (its going to change both the corrupted ashbringer and ashbringer)

Note you could use m2modder to change the .blp that the .m2 calls on if you don't want your edit to call on the custom .blp for both the corrupted ashbringer and ashbringer. Please look at Glitchy's Guide for Custom Models to find out how to change the .blp that the .m2 calls on.

I'll check that out, however I felt I should explain more thoroughly what I'm trying to do.

I got the Corrupted Ashbringer equipped, but want to modeledit it to the cleansed Ashbringer (not doable by wdb/hexediting). This works great by renaming the .m2 of cleansed Ashbringer to its corrupted counterpart. However, a reskin of the cleansed Ashbringer renamed to its corrupted counterpart renders no effect.

That's the problem currently. I'll check Glitchy's guide now and see if that gives me any positive results. Thanks for your time once more =)
