    Please help

Ok so after a ton of questions and research i came to a result about my model edits and other ppls model edit patches. i downloaded WoWME, since before the regular patches just werent working for some reason. and aparentally this makes them work. so when i installed it, added the patches into WoWME.cnfg and dragged WoWme.exe and all its other componets into the main WoW folder and clicked the exe to start it up it brings up a window saying "Warcraft has stopped working" and i get the option to either close the program or search the internet for a soloution. when i choose that option it searches for something and than closes. i will show a picture of this to help out. plz ask questions if u think u can help me out. since i dont think this made much sense...but the picture can explain better. Please reply!

From a quick glance, I'm not positive what the problem is.

However, I can't see the .mpq extention. Make sure the .MPQ is capitalized on all of the patches in your data file. I don't think they need to be capitalized in wowme.exe

You could also try the model edit fix.

Does the game work when you have no patches in the data folder?

    Have you tried it recently?

Game works fine if i click on WoW icon. but only the WoWME is the one with the problem, ive jsut tried it before i posted this and same problem. i will capitalize the MPS and see if that changes anything. and patches dont cause problems. with all my patches that mod stuff WoW starts perfectly but the patches just DONT work. Also u say the mpq has to be capitalized but if u look at the picture theres not even a ".mpq" after the patches. i think this is cause since i earlier opened one with WoWModelEditor now they automatically open with it. u kno how i can change it to normal patch programs like when u first open it? such as so when u click u either choose a prgram from a list or open using internet.

It could be something with vista, have you tried the MEF.exe. It seems to be easier to use than wowme.exe.

    Try this instead: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/bots-p...-live-ptr.html

Put it in your wow root. Put all your patches into the wow data folder. Make sure that the .MPQ is capitalized. Make sure that the p in patch is not capitalized. Remember the general format is patch-#.MPQ.

Once that is all done. Double click on the MEF (which is in your wow root folder). Click launch wow. It should work (it does for me). If not post back here and we'll see what else we can figure out.

Also, before you post back. If it does not work, try getting a known model edit (one from the model editing forums that you know works) to work by itself with the MEF. See what happens. Good Luck!

Problem is there isnt a ".mpq" like in the photo, ive mentioned this earlier saying, at first its like a ptch where when u clcik it gives u option to use prgram from a list or browse internet to open file. but since i opened one with WoWModelViewer it set that to defualt. u kno how to completely remove all of that to its originial so i can change the ".mpq" also i am using a medel edit form this site. the "patch-f-noggenfogger" thats the noggenfogger skele to murloc costume. and so i used MEF.exe and clicked launch. logged on and used noggenfogger, no murloc. just a skeleton. do i need to do the littel F8 thing at loggin or anything?

No you don't need to do the F8 thing with the Model Edit Fix. Your post is a bit confusing so let me try to help you. I may repeat some of the stuff that you said, because I don't understand your post very much.

    Put the
"patch-f-noggenfogger" into your data folder. Don't forget to remove the noggenfogger, so it would just be patch-f.MPQ. I'm not sure if the creator of the patch capitalized the .MPQ so you are going to have to make sure that he did. It also sounded like you clicked on the "patch-f-noggenfogger". No need to do that, just put it in your wow folder and the MEF will do it for you. Alos make sure that you log all the way onto WoW, sometimes the edits don't show up on the character selection screen.

At least we are moving in the right direction. I assume you didn't get the error.

From your description of the problem, it really sounds like .MPQ is not capitalized or that you forgot to remove the noggenfogger.

It must be like patch-a.MPQ in both data folder and wowme list.
It works for me but i have it like this # patch-a.MPQ in the wowme list.

Cant be that since i did remove the "noggenfogger" in the photo u can see Patch-f which is it. and again i have no idea how to tell if its mpq or MPQ, before i downloaded all these prgrams such as WoWModelViewer, MyWarcraftStudio they were the patches urs probably is. like theres no picture on the icon or anything. and when u clicked it a window came up saying "select prgram from a list" or "browse internet" or something like that, but these patches became default to ModelViewer so before i do anything, if i were to download or make a patch and double click it, it opens up in modelViewer. so that y i cant see the ".mpq" after the name since it has a prgram to run in.

Well so i did that earlier to see if it would work, in the photo where u see ".MPQ" after each patch ive personally added i did that. so that should be good. also the bottom window shows the ModelViewer program i have to show u the little icon with the 3 colored squares or whatever is the defualt for all the patches in the data folder. but i guess that doesnt matter. now the prblem is back to getting the patches to just work in warcraft...sigh

I see. The .mpq is indeed not capitalized, I will upload a patch with it capitalized. I would reccomend somehow making Model viewer not recognize these files if you can. I'm not too familiar with vista (still use xp).

    Here you go:
    patch-f.zip

Thats the murloc patch, let me know if it works.

Thats what i dont kno how to do. was hoping u did. i dont want it to default towards ModelViewer, i want it back to normal patches with it automatically having .mpq after it.

wow! was expecting more problems but that actually worked! thanks dude. did u change anything at all on that patch? or how did u change it to capital .MPQ? (just rename file?) so i guess the main problem is i need to be capitalizing the mpq. which if thats the case i need to figure out how to put the other patches to the orginal thing instead of a certain default program. anyone kno how?

All I did was capitalize the .MPQ. I would try to help you figure out how, but I'm not too familiar with vista. You might be able to find that out on Google or maybe someone could help you on MMOWNED. I'm able to rename my file to .MPQ because I don't have the model viewer as the default for opening the files. My Warcraft Studio sadly defaults to lowercase .mpq and not many people bother to change it. Good luck figuing this out. Glad I could help you figure out the problem.
