[Question] why is mpq not the same as MPQ

i found out yesterday that the only files i had after the patch that worked was 1 file and that had .MPQ where the rest had mpq

i fixed now and hurray but why is it neede to capitalize

is it blizz trying to make it harder to model or always been like this ???

that doesnt matter if its MPQ or mpq ... is the same as e.g. JPG and jpg

No, not really. mpq = USA MPQ = Europe

And as stated above, JPG and jpg arnt that much differant.

mpq and MPQ are, they both use a slightly differant packing code, aswell as reading.

WoW.exe just doesn't care what it is it is 'reading'.

Just try to keep the same format with your own patches, do have in mind that just changing it to .mpq instead of .MPQ won't do a thing ^-^



But now you know mpq and MPQ use a differant store/load way.
