    But you are right though

@ Idusy: Flying to GM island is nothing. It's just one of the multiple things you can do with DBC editing, and the most obvious / known issues, but trust me that it has other greater uses, and it will definitely be a great loss if it is "patched".
The only thing he said is being removed is the "taxi" files, if I'm not mistaken?

I too wish there was a second forum just for advanced chat, but that'd be against what MMOwned is; open sharing.
That's not to say however, we can't start up a little IRC chat.
IMO Altering TaxiPathNode is not exploring... Which is my main passion and mostly the reason I started MC... Its kinda lame to just change it and *fly* to where ever, and it takes away any excitment in it at all.. Id only use it for a last resort if you cant make it to a place other wise (as in GM island)

Don't get me wrong, I love exploring, but when you've seen every way of getting into something, and you just want to get there, you can do this. But that's not even what I'm getting at. When you switch terrain files around, the placement of it gets kind of fuzzy. In the case of GM Island, you need to take a zep there, and in the case of Programmer/dev island you need to use the same method.

I only saw it once it had been edited by the mods (rightfully so too), but I gathered that it was about someone who says that a certain file in the DBC files is being removed, moved, altered, or whatever serverside. I have no evidence except a cryptic forum post that's now all but non existent, but I think that It meant that taxipathnode.dbc(the one that allows minipulation of Zeppelin paths) is being altered.

Now, normally I wouldn't make anything of such doomspeakers, but with the recent surge of GM Island, and the perma bans, the new(relatively speaking) Warden owning up hackers everywhere, and the advent of Overrated being banned over model changing, makes me think that eventually, blizzard will want to stop losing customers and eventually switch to a system where the customers just don't have a chance to abuse the system. It could be soon, it could be never, but all I know is that something may happen.

    And I wouldn't be surprised...Just sad.
this cant happen ever... blizzard sent a letter to every1 a while back that said that model changing was ok they. sure they didnt say that that exact but it pointed out to it so why would they just cancell it? yeah i agree the fir into the darkpportal thing was kind of an "unfair advantage over other players" (a warining thing that u get if u mountain climb or something from blizzard) but otherwise, how does it effect other players? -gigle
It's not that I'm lazy to change my sig, it's just because I'm so gangsta.

    Think outside the box....

What if 40 mages all get the same altered mpq to take a zepplin to stormwind/ironforge, peek out over the edge and POM pyroblast players who have just come out of battlegrounds? Or set it to circle around the entrance of ZG and just sit there and nuke people?

What if your raid group sets the path to near AQ, so they can just log out on the zepplin and be semi-close to the instance when they log in without worrying about getting ganked?

You can definitely use path editing to gain an advantage over others.
    You can definitely

Re: I'm not sure, but I think I have news.

Model changing as with any other exploit has is downside, it can be used to exploit content in the most extreme of ways, in both pvp and pve. If not used malicously it affects no one, but as ive stated before in a game designed on jealousy and greed (Always wanting to have something better and have a bigger epeen is mainly what wow thrives on and thus causes addictions) Will cause people who know how to exploit in such a manner.. You cant stop exploiters in this type of game. They never could, and never can. You can change and change and change game files, geometery, game mechanics even but 7 million people tryin to gain an advantage > Blizzard's development team. End of story.
