REQUEST: of how to reskin items that work in WOD

    Hello everyone.

Ive considered for a long time to learn how to reskin/re-color items of WOW.
I know back in the days the programs such as MyWarcraftStudio was an active to recolor items. So..
My question is. Does this still exist. Does people now aday even tho so much costumizesation is available in-game.

You see I get tierd easily of my transmogs in wow & thought it could be nice to recolor or remodel some of my items. Which I already know I can do with tMorph. but if I for instance wanna take the Shaman tier 2 shoulder on my mage and paint them Pink to the marshal set & Then use tMorph to the rest.
or make my whole marshal set green or even black.

is ther any guides here. (VIDEO Guides I would be super happy!!) of how to do this and most important. HOW TO IMPORT it to WoD.

cus I dont know if patch.MPQ is still available.

Thanks alot! And thanks for reading this <3

This video should help for extracting and running the custom models: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRwucySsR4M

If you have photoshop, you can edit the .blp files with this extension: BLP Format Plug-in for Photoshop : Developer Utilities : World of Warcraft AddOns
Or you could use this free .blp converter to change in between different file formats in order to edit the models with simpler photo editors such as paint.net. (Would change the .blp into a .png or similar file) BLP Lab v0.5.0 - The Hive Workshop

Here, you can get the explorer in order to extract and reskin the WoW models: https://github.com/tomrus88/CASCExplorer

In order to run the custom models, the launcher you need is here: http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...ml#post3328002 ([Repost] SIG & MD5 Protection Remover)

You can also check out my post for some instructions on how to run the custom models in WoD: http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...ful-mount.html (✡✯Rainbow Celestial Steed Model-PATCH✯✡ ♥Beautiful Mount♥)

Hope this gives you some of the right tools to get started on your model editing journey! Sorry for the such brief instructions but I'm quite busy atm. Please, feel free to ask questions if this wasn't enough, it can be quite overwhelming at first. Good luck!

Well I downloaded everything. And it seem to be OK. I tried to follow the guide. But I am stuck with a few questions. I am happy for quick respond :-)

    - How do I find Shoulder Textures? And.. Seriously.. How do I find the Marshal rank 14 shoulder. the purple pink once. I tried to find the robe pierces I could not. And I cannot find the shoulder department of textures.
There are like 1000 things to look after I dont even know where to start. Is ther any hot keys u can tell me about? I wanna remog the whole marshal set into a color to begin with :-)

really thanks for help :-D was very useful. been looking for somthing like this for a long time

EDIT: And how do I make .m2 & Skin files to work into photshop or alike? :-D

    Ive stumpled upon another thing.
now in the video he uses character models. In my chase I sit with a reskin such as recolor an item. I found the item I was looking for. I tried to reskin it in Photoshop, it went well. Very well I think. I edited the picture as supposed to and recolored it the way I wanted :-)
but when I put it back to replace it in my current wow? how is that working? do I do it with the program u send me or a total other thing? :-)

    thanks again :-)

Unless you are doing edits on how the models move and interact, there is no need for you to use the .m2 and .skin files - only the .blp files.

Okay, so since you found the model you wanted, I imagine you used WoW model viewer to find the display id and location of the file, If you did not, you can download that here: https://wowmodelviewer.atlassian.net...W+Model+Viewer This should help you find the models you want to reskin much quicker. Simply find the model you'd like to edit in the model viewer, then use cascexplorer to find it and extract the .blp files.

In order to use your new "reskinned" model you need to put the file in the same order of how it was placed in the WoW data folders. If you did a helmet for example, you would place it into your WoW directory under the same names of folders the file was placed in under the CascExplorer. So a helmet would be *Item, *ObjectComponents, *Head, (then the .blp file you edited here with it's original name). Each * is a folder. I hope that part makes sense, it's so that the game can locate the model. Then, you run the custom launcher from the earlier post and your reskin should work. Please tell me if you have more questions about the process. Sorry this must be very confusing to understand.

Hi mate! I cannot thank you enough for the help u have given me, ive struggled upon a new issue. That I really wanna learn how to do aswell :-)

REQUEST: of how to reskin items that work in WOD-325031715e94d824e32c9453a730cf5a-jpg

If you ever played a mage u know this guy from vanilla.
well atleast I do :-) He has the same shoulders as I do on my mage. but the texture doesnt match. but you taught me how to fix dat :-)
so my question is, how do I change the model of my shoulders into that model, as I dont know the item model of those in-game
and he seem to have a new model now aday. but that model must remain somewhere :-)

If you can help me remodel by sharing ur info or any guides as before I would be thankful. This is THE BEST looking shoulder for mage as Alliance :-)

I need my marshal into those baddies :-) I can fix texture and stuff myself. But a hint how to find that texture could be awesome :-)
