    R.I.P. Model Editing 20/06/07

2.1.2 meant the end of Model Editing. You might find this weird since alot of editing is still possible, but Blizzard is slowly figuring out how to disable it...
The best example is my own character.

I've edited my character from human-> undead. The edit has always worked perfectly. Though now, in 2.1.2, I'm seeing an undead with Blond (my human's hair color) hair. I believe I can say that I'm quite experienced with model editing (been doing it for 1.5 years now I believe) and since the release of 2.1.2 (20/06/07 for the EU), I still havn't found a way to fix this today.

I believe I will not find one either. I've tried every single thing I knew that could be causing this problem, but nothing changed even the slightest thing.
My model isn't the only one having trouble. I've tested on a couple of other ones to, and certain combinations for human male->undead male seemed to be having trouble with the hair color not being changed.

This still is a minor thing that got disabled, but in time Blizzard will apply this "method" or however I should call it, to all the files.
    A sad day imo

Blizzard isn't the only one who can get smarter. People will always find one way to do model edits, there's atleast one way to do something, if not two.

Well, as I said, I've been looking for 2 full days now to fix this and havn't found anything yet unfortunatly. Tried all sorts of stuff, nothing can fix the "bug" in the edit.

Yea like Charde said. As they find new ways to nerf it, we'll probobly find new was also to make it happen.

    Re: R.I.P. Model Editing 20/06/07

Not every model is affected. Far from.
Still hoping i'll find a fix, but fearing the worst really :x
Let me upload a screen to show the exact problem.

    EDIT:
    http://img516.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mebugze8.jpg
As you can see, the ScalpUpperhair and ScalpLowerHair are still working fine, only the real hair is bugged :< Should be purple to normally

    I don't like being a blond ud tbh ;p
I've been trying to fix it for 2 days, without ANY progress. I doubt somebody will be able to fix it really. Afaik the blond color is related to my scalpupperhair file. As you can see on the pic, underneath the blond, the scalpupperhair is working fine. :x

It's possible they changed something, but not to nerf your hair...

Well afaik, the color of my hair is related to the ScalpUpperhair file, wich is working perfect. As you can see on the picture underneath the blond crap my upperhair is still purple.
I wouldn't know what determines the haircolor else.

    Re: R.I.P. Model Editing 20/06/07

I haven't noticed anything different since 2.1.2 and ive done multiple race changes and gear changes for guildees a few of which were to undead from cows and trolls which are not human but they still work. Mabye your file got messed up somehow? try doing the edit again and make sure that its a recurring problem and then past there try and have someone else do it and see if its your common.mpq thats ****ed up or if if its something else
