i think model editing sub-forum should be cleaned from the trash, some moderator should check them and keep w/e its worth it, you cant even guess how many times i saw threads names season 1 to season 3 or nelf to orc.... dudes! there are alrdy medits for that. + a model edit is not an exploit and has nothing to do with taking advantage of something, with model edit you change the enviroment in-game to something you think its better, you change the models to something that fits you or is better than the original, there is alrdy a section (bots and hacks) for the ones that wanna gain an advantage in-game against other players, model edit is not a hack nor anything close to it, blizz even updated scan.dll to track it down, you know why? because its used for the opposite reason it was made for....... i havent seen a good model edit for ages....

Reason for the texture edits are because it's really accessible (all you really need is photoshop, mws, and a converter), and the work is really tactile, as in you SEE the edits in real time, unlike adding buildings to a .adt. So most people go for that, and most of time, yeah, people turn Illidan pink, and it's utter crap. But every once in a while you get something nice and useful. But that's not even the real problem. Model swaping, where no edits whatsover have been made, need to cut out like the tumer they are. The "LOL I MADE ALL THE STARER WEAPONS INTO AZZINOTH BLADES LOL" is the shit that needs to be cut out first.

Well, now there's coming [item swap servicezorz!] which anyone can do with Glitchy's MES or a regular hex editor... Really, Theres 2-3 of those threads on the front page, and they get "zomg mu greensh 2 t6+wargliaves" while (for example) the Azeroth revamp v. 0.1 got some people flaming it for being "just a texture swap!"

Meh you can't expect everyone to be at your level. Altho I agree fully that it is annoying to see threads on the front page like "Model editing service" that only does model swapping, or topics like "S1 replaced with S4 gear" , those are indeed simple things to do but texturing is another thing, it always depends on the texture whether it be liked or not. That just basically depends on your taste of it. My first topic was also a texture thread, but it wasn't a normal texture swap like "ZOMGZ PINKZ ILLIDAN" , no it was just a texture I made myself....in paint, but that doesn't matter.

The fact is, maybe you hate it when somebody make a pink illidan texture but someone else might find it funny or cool, it just depends on what you like and dislike. I didn't hear guys complaining about the Hello Kitty reskin posted here, why? Because they liked them. But it was also simple to make right? Yes of course, but still if the public likes it then they likes it, altho it's simple to make. Same applies for pink Illidan, altho he is ez mode to create maybe some people likes it.

And who knows, maybe they advance even further and then make some model editing that do "appeal" to your likings, everyone start out small and eventually if they put enough time and effort in it they grow up. I've seen many good model editors around here that started small and became huge. I myself started first with regular texture editing and now I've advanced to even custom model editing.

But still, it's true that people here wants more often those "ZOMGZ EXPLOIT MODEL EDITING" threads, well I can't blame them actually because first of all this is MMowned, a site for hacks and exploits, MMowned was never to begin with a site for model editors, it's just a fun sub forum. But yea, some people don't see the beauty of model editing and all they want are model edits that give them advantages in certain things.

O well, I'm not quiting ME for a long time, unless I lost my inspiration, but then I only would take a break lol. Maybe I go even back to sound editing, that was fun too work with too

If you mean by world building, also changing the WMO gamefiles, then, that wont be missed. I like to see the world changed, but in a way that I can still walk around the changed world in live servers.

I do but I don't like that idea at all,first off I like the idea of cleaning up the Useless chunks but Do not delete stuff that MIGHT be useful,even if you do don't nerf the BG edits and stuff if idiots want to use them they are getting BANNED not you!

Seeing all this Drama is killing my inner child. -- Yes, we see that there isn't as much "oohh" and "aahh" as there used to be when exploiting and model editing first started to surface... but there's constantly going to be evolution in this new gaming word, and it can't continue to be treated like it's been treated unless we (those who are puting time in to learning how to ME, instead of asking everyone else for swaps and reskins...) have someone to lead us.

Coming from an "amature" model editor (me), I've been comepletely annoyed at all the damn model editing threads with "MODEL SWAP/RESKIN" in the title... It's not considerably model editing to me. It's more of a "game-edit" because the model is not being touched...

My concern is that people like you guys (Model editing Experts) are going to leave this place and those like me (aspiring model editors, trying to find their way in the dark) are not going to have anyone to look up to for advice, or concerns... much less any applications (thank you to Glitchy and his epic MES).

I don't know anyone outside of this site who has any idea where to start model editing. I'm personally afraid to be abandoned, lol. I'm trying what I can, when I can... but there's still a constant demand for all these "swaps" and bullshit. ~ I've even been talking to a select few about teaming up and creating things, simply because there's not a whole lot I know (beyond M2's is beyond me, atm).

In a sense, what I'm trying to say is: I'm putting in a lot of my personal time (in-between work, the girlfriend, and family) to take part in this model editing fixation I have been growing in my shed out back. If there is going to be a move, relocation, or some sort of secret club house going to be built, I WANT IN. I'm researching small things daily, testing all sorts of little edits, and I continue to try and expand my knowledge on editing many parts of this game. I'm not trying to make it sound like an application to "prove" my way in... I'm trying to express my passion for doing these things, and there's no better reward then the "ooh" and "aah" from those who enjoy my edits.

as you may have noticed, we reworked the Model editing section quite a bit today. Unfortunate that it had to take a thread like this to do it but really the ME experts are the one to blame for that, for reasons i stated earlier.

as for soslol... i have spent 7½ hrs today just moving some of the trash threads around and deleting stuff.. and i only touched the top of the pyramid.. we have over 15000 threads in this section.

AZO I'm very sorry to see you go. At my very short time spent here I have seen your work and I appreciate the effort you put into it. (the same goes for all the ME pros) You know I honestly wish I could do the work you do and that the others do as well.

I wish could truly understand how it feels to create a masterpiece and not have it appreciated for what it is. I also wish I could understand how hard it is to create such works of art. (Side note: I honestly don't understand how to work with any of the model editing programs and I'm too scared to ask questions in fear that I'll get the L2P n00b treatment)

I know that words or existence probably doesn't matter since all I am is just a site noob. I'm just a random person on the internet trying to be good and honest when it comes to the simplest edit to the the most complex ones. But even though I have this leecher status it doesn't mean I go downloading things left and right because it makes my character look awesome or it benefits me in some form or another. I actually try to give positive feedback to whatever I think could use it and reputation to those who TRULY deserve it. Yes I admit the everyday reskin amuses me but sometimes it does become trash after trash with post and repost of the same thing. Like I said before I wish I could truly understand how you and the other professionals feel about your work bot input and output...

But you see, some people actually care about MMOwned, and obviously you don't. As to the OP, you are right, but wrong at the same time. Model Editing isn't dead, but it's going backwards in comparison to the beginning of it. So hereby i give you your last +2rep xD
