Uhhm.. I have a problem, I download it.. I copy patch-9.MPQ into
my Worldofwarcraft/Data folder... Open WoW... and nothing has changed... no different music, skins, login screen, etc.
I tried opening it with MyWarCraftStudio, but when I do, it displays the file as empty... completely empty.

Forgive me if Im missing something obvious... any help would be appreciated.

Just delete patch-9.MPQ that's located in C:/Program files/World of Warcraft/DATA/

Then something els have happened.. You updated wow and now all the skins are stuck to your game. had this once but i'm not sure that you can have this bekus i named the MPQ Patch-9.MPQ a name blizzard never use. You havent renamed it right?

Nope never rename anything unless its alrdy taken, nd i only had numbers 2-8 for patch-#

maybe you must reinstall the game. with every update some things from Patch.MPQ and Patch-2.MPQ get Transferredto Common.MPQ and Expension.MPQ or from Patch-2.MPQ to Patch.MPQ Maybe try MyWarcraftStudio open those MPQ's and look if some character textures got changed.

Always put out the custom MPQ's from the DATA folder before you update.
