this kind of edits are just edits which take the breath out of someone, most of weapon remakings are from animes which I believe they are kinda hard due to their effects and or stetic plus the futuristic design used in most of them, anyways your is just wonderful, hope to see the job done soon

How was this done? Hex editing I'm hearing, but i don't even know how the whole hex editing thing works. I haven't come across a real "guide" on hex editing, especially one that covers M2 files. Any chance you might know how it was done?

I recently got my hands on a version of Maya so I may delve into custom models myself and start with making a weapon similar to this badboy:
I saw a girl with "GUESS" on her shirt. I said "fake?". She slapped me......

@pocaralho: glad ya like em and ya it's true that same custom models from anime totally fall out of place , but i don't really mind that though was actually planning om making some drill like weapon from gurren lagann xD

@synthblade:yar yar yar .. and ya i would also like to have a real "guide" about hex editing :<

If ya ever make that drill from tengen toppen gurren lagann good luck with it ^^ . I wonder how the result would be on a gnome . But still, on my perspective the drill would've required animation, else it's a bit off if you know what I mean. It's just really a shame that now we've advanced to this extent we don't even know how to add animations in it, let alone particles >.< . Googling on adding particle effects and this is what I got lol:

    Support/Tutorials/ParticleEffects - osg - Trac

altho it's with openscenegraph, and I don't even know what that is XD. But the code/scripts are somewhat looking promising, if only we know how to add those on a .M2 lol.

But still, nice process on your work, I'm looking forward to see the shield finished

And Hock, that looks like a misplaced chicken wing with horns on it lol ^^

well i heard someone had gotten one animation in .. and because a drill only turns it might work out

hmmm i think that link is not so helpfull for us .. becuase what we need to learn is how to add bones and mount points to models ... because particles react to those things ... so we all need to go learn die hard hex coding xD

i have been wanting to create a staff for a while now and i finally got my finalish design down ... its gonna be my most complex custom model ever :P .. and hopefully my theory on importing animations works and ill be able to let the hands on top move around and let it seems as if they are trying to grab the energy ball on top.

i toughed about a back story for this model of like how a few corrupted warlocks found out that the moment spirits travel from living to death a huge amount of energy is released. So they tried to create a vortex and contain all its power. But the spirits where so eager to get out, that the portal itself was unable to stop growing. knowing that this would soon be a world wide disaster the warlocks tried to seal the vortex off, but in the end they only managed to shrink it down. So as final solution they created a vessel that could contain the immense power of the vortex. In the end that was done by actually using the last living fairy's known in the The elven kingdoms as stone sacrifices. and now after all these years the vessel still exists as a staff that amplify a mage's power by infinity.

or something like that ;D. anyways this is what it will look like .. the design actaully speeks for itself :P

i also did some other designs but i don't think ill be able to make em all

    bow

    sword

    scythe

so ya if any of yo wanna give a go at any of these designs be my guest

great job on the concept :P
