Tired of the same old same old? Don't want to farm mobs or do dailies? Do you just use WoW as a chatroom these days?

Then this method of gold acquisition is for you, my jaded friend. You farm nothing, you never have to leave Gadgetzan, works on any server, and it is guaranteed to make you some gold hour after hour from both factions. It requires no investment, other than the time you invest in getting paid.

What is the method?

Gambling.

While it is true that casinos were banned in WoW, they were not banned for gambling, they were banned for the advertising spam in trade and yell. You can still set up a casino, but now you just have to use your head a little.

What you MUST have:

A trial account.
Ventrilo AND Teamspeak
Ventrilo: Ventrilo - Surround Sound Voice Communication Software
TeamSpeak: TeamSpeak - Welcome to TeamSpeak

That's it. If your guild has a server (and what guild doesn't) or you know someone who can host, you have the essentials.

Why you have a trial account: Make a level 1 toon on either side and enter the game. It may take a day or two but you will soon be able to post on your realm forum, without revealing to mods your true account. Doing it this way is managable and will get you ~85 gold (due to Neutral AH cut) every time you roll a winner.

Copypasta this into the text field and change the text in brackets accordingly:

Hi there, to all my friends and enemies of [realm name]. I am currently in the process of starting a casino here and I am looking for clientele. If you are interested in doing a little gambling, you can log onto Ventrilo or TeamSpeak and go to the server here: [Ventrilo info and TS info]

How will this work? I put copies of [Plain Letter] on the Neutral Auction House with a verification number for 50 gold a pop. You buy the letter, and once I get the gold we roll the dice. We will all be in voice chat, winners will be paid immediately through neutral AH. Maximum number of players will be 20, so you'll have a great chance of winning the jackpot of 900 gold!

To compensate for my costs and the time I spend organizing this, I will take 10% of the jackpot. Games will be held hourly from [time you start playing to time you stop playing], with all games being held in the Gadgetzan basement Auction House.

How a winner is determined: I will /roll and see what number comes up. After this, all contestants will /roll. The person who rolls closest to my number wins the jackpot, minus 10% for my fee. In the case of a tie, the contestants /roll until one has a higher number than the others.

If you are interested in being a high roller, get in voice chat and say hi. We will be starting [date and time you will start], so come celebrate the grand opening of [name of casino] with us in Gadgetzan's AH.

So now you have put the word out, and word will get around. You won't get banned for spamming and since no gold changes hands via trade,the ban isn't broken.

If your casino starts doing very well, you can have as many as 6 drawings an hour.

I have a casino myself, yes. However, it is all between people I have known
for quite some time (I started playing about 2 months after release)

The trial account isn't for using the AH, it is for making the post and organizing the casino without fear of your main being banned.

The gold from this isn't as much as say, what you would get from mote farming as an engineer, but when I got burned out on the game I ran a gambling group for about 3 months. I didn't need to advertise because I had enough interested parties but I thought I would include that copypasta for the benefit of people who want to start a casino.

I don't think it is, as I have seen people on my realm forum placing bets and dueling for gold, and right now there is a thread for a privately held 1v1 Stranglethorn Arena games with prizes.

To gamble in WoW with the in-game currency only is legal, and as such, there is no problems with this method.

On RP servers it can easily be made into a RP event to fit in and can be advertised as such without problems too, as long as you don't start spamming about it.

Only by interfering with Real Life currency you risk a ban, or by advertise-spam a channel.
The only hard part really is getting the clientell.
