Solo use of Fish Pheromones to Increase Skill

I found on my Hunter that I can throw a "Fragrant Pheromone Fish" at it and receive the +100 Fishing Skill bonus that comes with it. I'm not sure if this is common knowledge or not so I thought it would be a good idea to post.

This can probably be used on any class that has a pet (Warlock, UH DK's). It would be interesting to know if it works on classes that can summon things such as mages and priests.

I tried to do it on companion pets, but it didn't work.
