I know that one of my friend did this in MoP and got banned plus every dupe items removed. (including spectral tigers and BoE)

This is total BS.

When you get back to your server, you don't get a rollback of your original character, you get another transfer. So you may have (or don't have) whatever you want in your bags or banks, it doesn't matter at all.
