Like previously stated it was also nerfed so it doesn't work anymore

This was un-nerfed, spent 3 hours last night and was getting 700ish per hour with 40 people. Had already done the pit daily so was not on the quest.

I believe that this works only when there is an active quest for the pit. You do not have to be on that quest to gather them however. But there needs to be a daily quest option available. Everyone that tried earlier was unable to because there was no daily quest in that area for anyone.
