My little rogue arena guide. 2v2 3v3 5v5

Like i said, skills > gear mostly. Rogue mage combo can work out good i see then. thats my fault, I for once, happen to be bad with a mage. thats me every rogue plays diffrent. if you guys are cool with it Nike + joel , would you mind making a basic strategy on Mage + rogue combo so i can add it to the guide?

i cant make it myself since i dotn have good exp with it. i would love to make the guide bigger so everyone that doesnt have much info on arena combo's can choose their ways.

Well my current spec is 5/33/23

Recently left my 2k arena team to make a new one wich is currently sitting at 1905 rating with 37 wins and 11 losses. Mostly because we got unlucky, We met a black temple geared warlock and paladin team. Wich we still did fairly well but not quite there.

Basicly, Depending on arena our mage uses invisibilty. Nagrand he dosent, the other two he dose. Just to keep our setup unknown to the enemy.

Basicly we will wait for them to make a move, We have enough experience to know what to expect and i will leave that down to your own desisions.

I will sap the healer and allow my mage to take down the dps.

If it is a warrior, i'll let him kite him around abit and keep the healer stunlocked/silenced.

If it is a rogue i'll open on the rogue with a garrote stack up 5 cp's and pop a rupture on him (To keep the fight under controll) again keep the healer busy afterwards.

Druid, same as a warrior alltho' may have to help him abit on this with a few bleeds since they have such high armor.

Casters are much harder so once i have sapped my healer i will watch him for up to 5 seconds, Make sure he dosent remove the CC. If he dose, re-sap. if not, move onto the caster. Open with a garrote silence pop adren rush. if the warlock has a pet near you use blade flurry to try and take it out. If its a mage keep bladeflurry for when theres a w/e near. As soon as CC is removed on the healer put another on him. Normally i blind first and then we start with the sheeps. If no CC is available use your kicks to silence him along with Counterspell. Once the dps is dead just kill the healer. Should be no problems if theres two of you but maybe if theres only 1 it could be quite hard. i know i met a warrior and shaman team this morning. Team mate died along with the warrior but i had problems killing the shaman mainly because of my spec.

Against druid healers and dps teams its mostly the same, Exept the CC shifts to the DPS and you must do your best to nuke the druid, Spam shiv its vital if he gets out of range he will run around the pillars making it almost impossible to nuke him. When you stun the druid pop Adren rush to make his life as short as possible. Use blinds shiv imp kick whatever on the dps when you get a chance. Once the druid is dead it should be easy to nuke down the dps

Hope that helps out a few players. It is indeed a good combo, the Crowd Controll is awsome and can nuke most classes down in the amount of time a healer is silenced for

I really think this guide is overrated. he's saying lots of good combos are bad, when they really aren't. and you really put it way too simple, like "sap, kill dps, then blind, kill dps. and priest fears for 5-10 sec." no, a fear does _very_ rarely last that long in the beginning of a fight. and no, most people will no trinket out of sap these days.

You got it all wrong there blenden, i haven't said the combo's are BAD, only for one and i corrected it, just seeing from my point of view, since i did a lot of arena with every class and thats how i came to the conclusion. I said they aren't a smart idea to start out on if you have lil arena exp. If you have high arena exp , you prolly dont read this guide.

second, lets say you fight a healer/dps. and you sap healer and nuke the dps right away. youre saying the healer will just wait his 15 sec and let the dpser die? no you will FORCE him to use trinket.

third, when a rogue opens on a priest using the simple open, CS , hemo/SS/BS/mutilate, kidney, mutilate , gouge and wants to go on, you think a priest would A, fear, or B let himself die, because he knows if he doesn't fear, he will get intercepted on heals.

Thnx for this guide alltho i disagree with a few things, you correct yourself on it in earlier posts tho.

First there is the mage - rogue combination,
Myself i have my 2vs2 on almost 2k now ( happy world - talnivarr ), i'm having a rogue as a partner. I just have to say this combination is one of the best when specced correctly.

A mage with survival spec can iceblock and whatsoever but if that mage has a rogue among with him with a survival spec as well that rogue can survive easily with the right resilience and hp pool.

2nd is you made the topic from your point of view but therefor only taking in one certain spec from the rogue prolly, this isn't a combat spec, prolly a muti/hemo spec or combat/hemo.

A combat spec most of the time uses different openings, a sub spec would use cheapshot + hemo + rupture most of the times while a combat spec ( which i am myself atm ) can choose for a garrote + imp kick opening as well on casters, this basicly silences them for a whole 5sec.

Just my 2 cents, Thnx anyway for your effort in this guide

EDIT : i just noticed you mentioned poisons in your guide, Wound Poison in OH and Crippling Poison in MH, switch them, i'm sorry to say but i was supriced to see this in your guide, crippling on an OH is a MUST while wound poison on MH is prolly the best choice.

You want to use shiv for a movement slowing on your enemy, with a palladin's bof this will be more tough but all in all its still the best choice.

And just another add i also noticed, the following quote :

"envenom ignores there armor and ive been doing 3k+ crits on them. it takes them down very fast. and its a very fast CP builder."

Notice that this is only good when you have a muti CP build, you make the deadly poison procs and cp's fast while finishing it with quick burst damage -> Envenom, the envenom damage is even bigger with vile poisons yes.
In all other specs besides muti you won't get to equip deadly poison and with a sublety spec you will use rupture 100% of the time with serrated blades.

Yet another small notice, nothing speciall :

"my tip is, if their highest dps is a warlock or a spriest. take it down. they go down within seconds"

Yep you go for them first but not because they go down within seconds ( alltho an s-priest might ), a lock with soullink spec is a pain in the ass,
you nuke them down first tho because they are dot classes and in the end your dps won't outmatch their damageoutput, also because of their lifedrain and mana drain yes.

hey man, great feedback tbh. want to run over some cases, cuz yes i know that when i made the guide i was hemo, but next day mutilate so in some cases i messed them up. i agree pretty much on 90% of the stuff. except 2 things. with this im talking about the envenom thingie.

MH wound and OH crip, isnt my fav. since when i fight a healer, i prefer to shiv wound poisons up to 5 then nuke, instead of having chance of proc to reach 5.

side note, being mutilate, i really do rape down locks within seconds.
simply using very easy openers like,
CS, mutilate, gouge, ( wait till energy ), kidney, mutilate, CoS, gouge, mutilate, evis.

the opener is tricky tough, since if it fails, you have no CoS for 1 min. but if you play with another dps class. it shouldnt be a problem, at all. just take out the gouges then

Yeah most of what you saying is true there, most opponents will go down faster with cheapshot, mutilate, evi's and whatsoever but ( and maybe its slightly a personal choice ) these burst damage attacks are very very luck dependent, if they don't crit you are basicly screwed, even more when they have a good healer among them.

Hense i ussualy chose to open with garrote on difficult / very high hp/resi opponents, make 5 points and finish it with a rupture, 2 big dots he has now.

If your dps is high enough ( myself i'm wearing the BT maces set )

you can even choose to use a s&d with 1 or 2 points, 2 big dots, huge dps with snd will make it so much easier in the end to kill that opponent. It just takes some longer.

you have some very nice gear xerozsin , im using dragonstrike/merc mace atm hehe, or when mutilate malch/merc oh. but ye, those 2 maces would make me wet. they went to a fury war at us.

and yes comments that help are always nice. now i can learn some tips too from my own post hehe.
