One WoW folder for eu and us (windows, batchfile included)
Hi
this batch file will clone your wow folder so you have 1 source folder for both the EU and US client and for the client without any addons
This means it will only take up a couple of KiloBytes (the configfiles) on your hd to have the extra versions
how to use:
have a dir with the WoW folder in it called "World of Warcraft" (for example c:\warcraft\World of Warcraft) this we call the source folder
run clonewow.bat with administrator rights
this will create the folders:
...\World of Warcraft - EU
...\World of Warcraft - US
...\World of Warcraft - EU - NoAddOns
...\World of Warcraft - US - NoAddOns
the folders are linked to the original source folder, except for the config files
this batch will also (hard)disable (only in the linked folders)
logs/loggin
errors/crash reports
Why do this?
- less diskspace (only one wow folder instead of 2+)
- easy updating (only update the source WoW folder and all versions are updated, also for addons)
- faster&less memory (windows only need to cache one version, if you run bots on us and eu)
- cleaner
*** I don't trust you're bat file / exe: ***
not really my problem, but you can always read the source and download the exe from microsoft yourself (url is in de batchfile)
* Only works on NTFS partions
* The batch file should work for all windows 95 and up
* use a US client for the source wow, us gets updated before EU
* almost always (sometimes not with major patches) the updated/patched US client works fine on EU servers
* only does the 32 bit version, but this can easly be updated to include the 64 bit version
* noaddons means NO addons, so also the blizzard addons are disabled
I don't care about +rep
use at your own risk and don't expect any support from me

This is pretty awesome, I've never really seen something like this before. As someone who loves his SSDs, I can truly see the value in saving disk space. Thanks very much!

The main reason I created the batch file
And ofcourse the speed inprovment due to cache when running both clients at the same time

I am using your guide since you posted it on the HB forums last week -> http://www.thebuddyforum.com/honorbu...s-windows.html
And its working smooth!
I just need to delete and reacreate the links after client patch! Keep in mind, the WTF subfolder only should not be deleted if you plan to recreate the structure, or you will loose most of the char customizations you made on the cloned client.
P. S.: Better upload the archive to any host, instead of embeding to the forum, and create virustotal link for the public.
Thumbs up from me!

Just run the launcher/updater in/from your SOURCE folder and the clones are updated to, no need to recreate or anything (the files are links to the source folder, so if they change the clones are changed to)
