Because he is horde NPC and if i remember right alliance cant go inside Stormwind Keep and kill the king....

read more. i know i've killed him in the past. either the wowhead article is wrong, or you can make him attack you or something, but i have clear memories of climbing up there on my druid pre-cata and killing this guy.

i were able to make a simple macro + keyspam to invite me off real id all the time, all i needed to do was accept invites and leave and get another one instantly and my bots were mining/herbing meanwhile. good find!

i used to farm this but earn alot more than you. i used the addon oQueue and at peak times there are around 300+ people looking for grps. i would join the waitlist on loads and just kill the mob continuously. as soon as i got an invite i would tag mob and leave grp waiting for next invite. it only took me about 5-10 secs to kill him. was averaging about 3 kills per minute- so say 75g average per kill at 3x per min = 225g x 1 hour = 13500g it still works as of now . but alot less people will be using the oQueue addon as the game has similar by default in this new patch.

As i said,using only one account you really have to be lucky to make 1000g/hour but if you are using friends and as someone mentioned Oqueue you can make easy 3000-5000g each hour.

I am going to necro my old thread even thou this has been changed to a point where farming him is now pain in the <snip>. His HP has been increased to 27mill and he hits like a truck, even if i try to do him as a tank ( I can survive for few min but its pointless in farming him solo even if you can ). So what I decided to do is to try a different approach and here it is. It worked to some degrre ( i failed ) but I learned few things that can help you get him to 70% in 10sec ( solo ) so with 2-3 people you can still kill him somewhat EZ and in decent amount of time

What you need to do is a bit tricky and you need one particular item in order to do this ( any melee will be amazing with this ). So the item in question is Soul Capacitor and the other legendary dps ring. Why do you need those items, well 1st one I think is needed since it will store your dmg done when it procs and release it after 10sec, and the ring will also release % of the dmg done after some amount of time. So it is best to pop the legendary ring 1-2sec before the stored dmg is released ( I kinda failed at that ).

Here comes the trick, next to the boss there are low level npcs Pleasure Palace Waitress that can be one shotted and with insane dmg multiplier, and there are lots of them next to boss so what you wanna do is attacked them when the Soul Capacitor procs ( NOT BEFORE ). I tried as moonkin ( went into bear form I also learned that any melee dmg can proc it ) and waited for trinket proc and after that i quickly switched form used all cds + ring and started to dps them and when the energy was released and i did 2mill dps and got the boss to 89% ( sadly I was to far away from boss to do splash dmg on him when ring relesed it ). So i tried dufferent approach and it worked like a charm and I managed to get him to 70% in 15sec or so, I know still too far away but at least it will give ppl a hope and if you farm it with 2-3 friend and you are get a proc at similar same time, you can get him to 10-15% or so in that time. The remaining health ( 3mill or so ) shouldnt be an issue.

I know this is and old necro and that there a lots of IF'S and many things need to overlap in order for this to work but considering he still drops up to 100g ( read it on forums ) you can still use this to farm him for gold ( not as much as solo but still ).


Anyway sorry for necro, just thought it would be funny to try it out.
