Camping rare spawns for Blood-Soaked Invitations for Brawler's Guild

Since I've gotten myself an invite, I'll share with the community simple and effective ways to actually tag the rares to get the invite. You'll need to run the game in windowed mode, if the game is minimized you won't be able to get any audio clues and the app *probably* won't spam the hotkeys for you. What you'll need is the addon Smart Error and an app to press a hotkey once every 200-350 ms. Smart Error is useful because it makes sounds when your target is out of range of your ability, so your computer beeps when the target is out of range. So if a rare spawns and is kinda far away, you will have an audio clue. Yes, npcscan will take care of this, but this works without having to clear cache.

AOE'ing the ground is not effective because the aoe "pulses", and allows others (using the method I've detailed here) the opportunity to tag the rare first.

The Macro

For <instant no travel time ranged attack> it needs to be a spell that is an instant cast and does damage instantly (icelance has travel time so it isn't instantly damaging). The old druid dot spell "insect swarm" applies an instant dot but didn't do instant damage, so someone else could take the tag even if you applied the dot first because there was no damage done. This is the same reason taunts won't work.

Then you set the app to hammer the hotkey for the macro. Make sure you're in pulling range of the next rare you think will spawn and turn your attention to something else or just watch the screen until it pulls. Once the macro targets something, turn off the button spamming app and fight like normal. Hopefully you haven't been hit by any devastating abilities. In the case where one of the other rares spawned, turn off the app, and mount+fly out there manually hitting the button for the app as soon as you are in a good spot to get the tag.

When a rare has spawned and been killed you should edit the first letter of name of the rare out of the macro so the macro won't be picking up the dead npc. I wouldn't use add "/cleartarget [dead]" before the /cast portion, because this sets you up for not remembering to edit the macro and having it fail on you.

Using this method, I was able to tag and kill/loot about 20 rares in about 2 days on a high pop server. At times I was against 5+ people camping the rare and I was still able to tag it with this method.

Fight Strats
Kar Warmaker (Alliance kills this) and Dalan Nightbreaker (Horde kills this) share the same abilities. They do a frontal aoe that takes you down about 80%, the tricky part of this is that the graphic is noticeably smaller than the effective range. So I'd sidestep an extra 4 yards just to get out of the way. The npc will also do a leap at random people who have engaged the npc in combat and are kinda far away, this hurts. Best thing to do is to follow the npc and stay within 10-15 yards of him so he won't try to jump on you.

Muerta (Alliance kills this) and Disha Fearwarden (Horde kills this) share the same abilities. They cast a ground aoe called Wrath of the Light that is not interruptable. Don't stand in it. They casts Chains of Faith, interrupt this. And they also spam casting Holy Bolt which is their normal attack. It is not easy to kite them, you need to line of sight them to get them to move.

Lastly, Ubunti the Shade (Alliance kills this) and Mavis Harms (Horde kills this) share the same abilities. They will randomly blink away, make sure you run back to within 15 yards else they will take off 60% of your hp with the Mortal Throw ability. If you run close enough at the end of the cast this she won't damage you with this. She will also cast Shank at you. Shank will stun you for about 2.5 seconds, taking a few will not be detrimental, just very annoying and makes you have to heal yourself more. To avoid Shank, move so that you're outside of melee range. If she misses you, there's a good chance she'll attempt to Shank you again very soon until she blinks away.

There will be a good chance that you will loot one of the epic only usable in pandarian zone trinkets. You can only have one of each trinket in your bags in your bags+equipped. If you don't delete the item, the corpse of the npc will stay up for a long time, giving a hint to the competition that npc won't spawn for a while. On the other hand, it'll screw with people's npcscan addon and they won't be notified the instant it spawns.
