What we wanna have
Reins of the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent



This mount drops 100% from Alani (lvl 92 rare spawn, 1,2 mio HP). This makes Alani to the new Time-Lost-Proto-drake or Aeonaxx.

Where can i find him
Alani can be found in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Problem
The problem is Alani has a debuff called Nimbus Shroud, which makes him immune to attacks.

Solution
So you have to get 10x Skyshard and combine them to a Sky Crystal . This Item can be used to clear the debuff on Alani.

How to get the Skyshards
There are a few options to get them:
- They drop from regular mobs and mobs killed for daily quests
- They can also be found in the reward bags from the daily quests
- Sometimes they drop from rare-mobs in whole pandaria
- The most you will get in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, but they drop in other zones too

Additional Information
- You have to get exalted with Order of the Cloud Serpent to learn Cloud Serpent Riding
- You have to get exalted with The August Celestials to actually learn the mount

When you use the Sky crystal on Alani it also does damage equal to approximately 20% of his health so it will automatically tag him for you. So hopefully no one can just camp him out and spam an instant attack when you are using your Sky crystal on him.

what i know is that you only get the shards on lvl 90..

Is there any mobs who has a higher drop rate than the others? Wowhead doesn't say anything about it yet.

hahaha "getting" =), go wowhead check 1st comment about it then think think it again about "getting" - farmed 12h on confirmed mobs - got like 50 stacks of cloth green/rare items etc 1 skyshard =), changed to 2nd "good" source of it... mobs are annoying, have above 500k and nasty abilities, farmed for 6h - no skyshard

ALL 90 mobs in Vale of Eternal Blossoms can drop them. Reports say 4-24 hours per shard.

So have fun farming guys! It's still there because of this - not because you got lucky and found it!
