Wow With "HD" Graphics!

Introduction:
For those that don't know, HDR Lighting is the effect of light that's "too bright" for your monitor. A real life example; if you hold up a thin object to bright sunlight (such as a piece of string), the light seems to curve around it.

Additionally, shadowed areas are much darker with HDR.

While World of Warcraft support very limited and basic Bloom lighting (go to the Wetlands while the sun is setting), this mod enables the shader effects that the game is able to support, but Blizzard chose not to (either due to technical limitation, or because they just don't want to).

The download contains the dll file, a config file, and a readme file. The DLL file (d3d9.dll) is actually a modified Direct3D file. I believe that games that use the D3D API are designed to take advantage of a d3d9.dll file if it's present in the games folder instead of the one in the Windows directory. This DLL simply takes advantage of that, and enables bloom effects (amongst other effects) in any game that doesn't have native support for it.

This mod is based on the ENBSeries DLL.

Installation:
Download the zip file above. Place the DLL and INI files into WoW's main directory.

F.A.Q:

Q: I dont see any changes!
A: Make sure you are running in Dx9 mode. Make sure you've followed the installation section of this post.

Q: The Effect is too strong! how can i reduce the bloom?
A: open ENBSeries.ini
Find BloomPowerDay=22 change the value to 16.
Find BloomConstantDay=7 change the value to 5

If its still too strong after that, continue playing with the INI file, and take a look at the links listed in the Troubleshooting Tips section below.

(also, make sure you have turned off wow's NATIVE bloom effect. the bloom from that and wow stack exponentialy. so if you have too much bloom, that might be why.)

Q: Im getting an error.....
A: Make sure you are in Dx9 mode. Also update your Directx from Microsofts Official site.

Q: QQ i want Dx11!!!!!
A: WoW with HDR - Page 3 Look for "FIX FOR DX11 USERS" however i dont use it, i know nothing about it.

HOWEVER:

this thread provides more documentation, AND more information. the other thread is just a download link and a youtube video.

also, old thread's download link is borked.
and the vid makes my eyes bleed.
I'd ask the mawds to consider leaving this, as the origional thread no longer contains relevant information, is 2 years old and has no working DL link. (plus the origional uploader appears to be B&)

I also changed the Documentation links..... they should be okay now, ive linked to the ENBSeries documentation page, plus the source thread on mmo-c. i dont have any issue viewing this, and if you do im not sure what to tell you really... o_O

Im just Wondering about one thing. Since this goes in Modifying the Wow Files is This Detecteble or Bannable in any was?


It Doesnt seem to do Anything for me I have Installed them and the Shortcut to Disable and Enable isnt Working Is this only for Nvidia CPU's? i use an ATI HD6950 2G

I have an ATI and it works for me, make sure you put all files in your main wow directory (where WoW.exe is, even the readme just in case), and then run WoW. When you get into WoW hold shift and click F12 and it should work.

I Found the Problem i Had WoW on DirectX 11, Changed it to DirectX 9, Restarted And now it Works Amazing!

Yeah, there's a fix for people running Dx11 in the mmo-c thread (i think) might be on page 3 or something.

as for banability... i really don't know. i don't THINK so, because technically your not modifying a wow file, you are modifying a MICROSOFT file. but blizzard can ban you for whatever they feel like. and i don't think this is overly detectable.

For the people knowing if you can get banned for this. It is unlikely.

You're doing nothing more than increasing client side lighting rendering and not making this work for everyone, and if you get banned for doing it you can suggest to Blizzard to make their lighting better so you don't have to resort to 3rd party mods to get the lighting you want for your game.
