[Tip] Upgraded BoE rare mob loot - 4.1

Quests & Creatures

* Loot from the creatures Garr, Julak-Doom, Mobus, and Poseidus has been adjusted to be commensurate to their rarity and invested effort.

Xariona and Akma'hat's loot are also seemingly getting upgraded, no idea why they aren't listed in the notes.

This could mean a few things;

- The loot from these mobs is being removed and new stuff is being put in
- The loot from these mobs is being upgraded (retroactively)

Now, if the second option is the correct one and the items are upgraded retroactively, you can and probably will make a pretty good profit if you buy the items from the Auction House now and hold them until 4.1.

The items are:
Beak of Julak-Doom - Item - World of Warcraft
Mobus's Vile Halberd - Item - World of Warcraft
Garr's Girdle of Memories - Item - World of Warcraft
Belt of a Thousand Mouths - Item - World of Warcraft
Xariona's Spectral Claws - Item - World of Warcraft

They don't cost much on my realm, so I am just buying them up for a few hundred gold and hoping for the best. If I lose out it wont be on much either and I can just resell the blues for a bit higher than what they cost me, since they are removed from the game.

Names and stats for the new items are added. They are all iLvl 359.

Also, as Poseidus (the rare sea horse in Vash'jir) is mentioned, I believe it might drop a mount after 4.1, as during beta it dropped this:

So you might want to look out for it after the patch.

EDIT:
Reins of Poseidus - Item - World of Warcraft has been added in the latest PTR build. Looks like the mount is very likely being put in now and is usable in ANY water, not just Vash'jir.
Also note that it is BoE so will probably be sellable, although I can see it being changed, as TLPD/PSD/GC are all BoP.

If you actually took the time to read the comments you'd know that the Reins of Poseidus only dropped in beta and never in live. Also if you took the time to click those links and replaced 'www' with 'ptr' you'd know that they aren't being given upgraded stats, but they will very likely just add extra loot besides their signature item (cloth/gold/etc).

IceZero, thats speculation. on both cases. and in either case this is something i missed in the PTR notes, and as a rarespawn hunter this interests me alot!

It's not called flaming, it's pointing out facts. You probably saw the line about the updated loot in the patchnotes but did no research whatsoever about the things you said. This isn't 'not confirming', this is highly HIGHLY speculative based on thin air and does certainly not belong in the 'guides forum'.

My apologies if I came across offensive, that was not my intention, but I'm getting a bit tired of people around here reposting everything and making topics for every fart the blue posters make without testing it or finding more info about it themselves (probably in the hope of getting easy rep).

Personally I wouldn't take the comments posted about these rare mobs loot upgrade as a simple add cloth and gold. These are 5 man (at least) rare boss mobs and considering that they are adding 5 man heroics with epic drops i wouldn't doubt some kind of overhaul on their drops. Of course like everything else in this thread, this is just speculation. Secondly, Ice, you do come off as a prick to be honest, seemed like an appropriate post to me and if you had a problem with the location or comments themselves you could have just left the thread and not commented at all which is why saying you didn't mean to come off that way makes me think your full of it.
