Sorry if its a repost from elite, I wouldn't know since I can't access it.
And yeah I probably should've mentioned the Glyph of Mend pet, but at the time I kind of figured all Hunters would have it since it basically removes the need from ever having to feed the pet.
Edit: Updated the strategy a bit, found a much smoother way of handling Millhouse.

Razz, you're not a very productive troll. Try some time with Goons, they'll improve your form.
Chomsky, he was referring to Glyph of Mending, which is not Glyph of Mend Pet, as any good hunter will tell you.
Mending makes your mend pet heal more, while mend pet removes the need for feeding.
Rules on elite posts are that if someone finds it of their own ability, then it's acceptable, I was just informing you. ;P
One last bit. I think editing your first post through it into the forum black hole...
Yeah, Janube you're right. I didn't realize that until later about the Glyph. Total brain lapse on my part. And yeah, I don't know what happened, I edited the post, it was fine for about 5 minutes then it vanished for a while.
Seems to be back though.
Nice strategy mate!
Congrats for the guide!

Hey guys, 85 hunter here with 357 ilvl, im able to kill slabhide in under 4 minutes.
The adds take only a couple minutes aswell. I've discovered a quick way to spawn the first boss, without having to kill anything but Millhouse.
I use a Serpent for this (no real reason besides dash/ranged attack) I stand right next to the 2nd pack, send my pet in to attack the 3rd pack. As he runs in, I start running towards the beginning, changing my pets target to the 2nd pack. When millhouse gets in range I change my pets target to him, and send him in...As soon as my pet hits him, I have to feign to get any random adds off me...I start blasting millhouse while running towards the entrace, at 50% Millhouse runs, and I run out of the instance. He activates the 1st boss..and I can run by him straight to slabhide.
The key is to have all of the packs pulled while you kill Millhouse.

gonna try this in my hunter![]()
If you could get that working consistently (I could see some things going wrong if you're not sure how to handle it all) but it would drastically reduce the time it took to finish that instance. Its a great strat if you can do it properly! Thanks for throwing that in there!
This is not even close to the post found in the "elite guides" section... Yes, someone showed HOW to do this... but the OP here had a very detailed guide all the way to the boss, and it is posts like his that this community thrives on, and imo, posts like his that make our community great. I feel he should be rewarded for his Thorough guide, and not shouted down because there is a weaker, not as detailed guide on how to solo slabhide for the drake kill..
Thanks man, I really appreciated your effort and the quality of your post. +3rep
Has this been fixed? Upon pulling the first pack (the 3rd set of adds) the 1st pack (millhouse) also engages & nukes me from behind.
EDIT: Tested 4 times, the above is correct, if u pull the 3rd group in the 1st group with millhouse attacks despite range.

I haven't tried it since the patch yesterday Neonic, I'll give it a try later today and report back.
And thanks for the comments, Sklug. I appreciate it.
Also found this:
1st Millhouse group: Nuke millhouse > runs to group 2 - FD/Die/Run out etc
2nd group: Nuke Millhouse > runs to group 3 - fd or whatever
3rd group: Nuke millhouse > Runs to group 2!!!! - cheating ****
So u have to kill all 3 groups too or he wont run to the end & cause the worm to appear.
If you attack a group he ISNT in currently he will aggro you anyway and bring whatever group he is with along for the ride. Plus anything along the way.
I am giving up now, as a lv 358 warlock in dest using a VW the trash pack ARE doable but are pretty damn tough, took me about 8 deaths to clear 2 packs :\

That sounds brutal. Like I said, I'll give it a try here in a sec. I guess the only option is gonna be to solo each pack with Millhouse in it, which sounds about as much fun as smashing your face against the wall.
Edit: So yeah, I just killed Slabhide again. As a hunter it is still possible however the trash takes about twice as long as it did before. There's a lot of pet dying involved, its even made harder by the fact that you can't have two mobs trapped at the same time. I'll have to re-write the guide.

The way i did it was to zerg millhouse while fearing one pet tanking the rest, using VW sheild & nether protection when i could. Once millhouse dropped i usually had to bail before getting another.
But then hes gone & its just 4, i can usually take 1 or 2 before i bail, then on the 3rd attept i finish the group.
The killer is millhouse, if your pet is tanking him he hits very hard.
As i said it is doable but would require about 5 or 6 deaths before even facing slabhide for me as a lock, not to mention a good 45 mins on just trash. So yeah not really workable for me
I suppose as a hunter u could replace those "deaths" and "bails" withfeign death at least lessening the difficulty.....sometimes i hate being a lock :P
