Another way to get Maelstrom Crystals

Hello,

first of all, sorry for my bad english ^^

I´ve found another way to get Maelstrom Crystals.
You have to be an enchanter and must make some PvP.

Just buy the Vicious Gladiator's Baton of Light for 700 Points and disentchant it.
So you get a Maelstrom Crystals.

I hope i could help you with that little trick ^^

I just dont see why it has such relevance to be in Elite? I've been doing this ever since it was possible because it was common sense, just like buying epic items from the conquest vendor, equip and buyback. Repeat until all meta requirements are done and enjoy achievement.

It's simply in elite, because it's probably not intended that you should be getting the crystals from these items, so the more people that get to know it, the bigger the chance is that blizzard will see this (bug?) and fix it, so that's why it's in elite. So everyone isn't doing this.

It has already been discussed in various Maelstrom threads on the official forums, so the chances are already quite high.

And again i doubt its a big bug of any sort, since theres a weekly cap on conquest points and not everyone pvp's. Probaly a way for people to get maelstroms beside raiding which currently is the only sane way to get maelstrom unless you want to DE world BoE.

I dont recall being able to DE justice items except for 1, but the shard value on those are low since they get disenchanted in heroics aswell.

Truth is. Demand of maelstrom is high, fixed amount of conquest available, high prices regardless, disenchanters only. Perhaps this is our profit income as enchanters Also it was mentioned earlier that if people discover this themselves and post it in exploits/guides/whatever it's fully legitimate and dosnt require to be edited/deleted

People are actually gonna use their conquest points on the second best PvP wand ingame, to disenchant it into ONE Maelstrom crystal? Ok, so you got the Maelstrom Crystal worth 1-3000 gold. If you sell it, what are you gonna use your gold on? Probably other items that can't even be compared to the item you just disenchanted.

Now, you can only buy one of these wands a week (Conquest point cap). This means you can only disenchant it once a week, and only sell it once a week.
That's roughly 2000 gold a week, instead of using (or saving the points) on even BETTER epic items?!

Relics have the same price, and for me none of the pvp items are useable in raids. So hence i want the gold instead for minimal work

Still doesn't make it elite worthy. The crystals cost about 1000-1500g in the 4 servers that I play. Seeing as how pve epics normally cost 8-25k (just as a comparison for the price of epics) and you can only get 1 wand per week maybe 2 at higher rating (but then again those people at higher ratings probably wouldn't want to waste their points), it's not really a major gold maker.

i can get around 3 wands a week atm. So its a pretty nice way to get gold, But alchy stone was better :|

I have about a 2.8k cap on my Rogue and 2.6 on mypally. Plus a 2.2k cap on my Druid. Plus any alts i level soon. Eventually I'll be capped on all the pvp Gear i can buy, really soon on my rogue as im done with mainset items. This is a very usefull tip for me once i get my gear on my toons.

Even if you have a low cap, if you're not interested in pvp at all this is an easy way to make 4-6k gold a week doing as little as 3 Rated bgs.
