    Increase Rogue DPS abusing poisons

This is my 1st post, hope it helps.

The point of this guide is to take advantage of rogues easy dps rotation using the following:

    1- TellMeWhen - Addons - Curse
2- 3 weapons (you may use your normal dpsing weapons and a decent extra weapon)
    3- A macro

    #showtooltip 17
    /equipslot 17 0 1
    How to:
1- In your normal dpsing weapons use instant poisons and avoid using Deadly Poison IX, instead use Deadly Poison IX in your extra weapon in your bag and put that weapon in your 1st slot of your backpack.

2- Set TellmeWhen to show you the Deadly Poison IX buff on your target so you can track the duration of them.

3- When doing dps click the macro (so the weapon whit Deadly Poison IX gets equiped on your offhand) and wait till your target haves all 5 stacks, then click the macro to have the weapon whit instant poison equiped again.

4- When the Deadly Poison IX buff on your target is at 3/4 of his duration, click the macro once again and the use Shiv to renew the duration.

5- Click the macro once again.

    6- ????

    7- Profit.

I did this on my rogue whit a little more than 4.5 GS and i went from 2.7k dps to 3.1k dps so its ~450 extra dps for me (dps increase may vary depending on your talents or how many Tom Cruise posters you have in your room :eh

Hmm that seems like a rather logical solution for dps increase on long fights if you have 3 decent weapons.

Although I don't play a rogue, can anyone else confirm?

The problem I have is that I don't really have a decent backup weapon..And the use of Shiv is good but I feel this is too much. I can do 12K DPS as a Mut rogue, so it's enough XD

I dont play a rogue, but this sounds like a simple yet brilliant idea. I'm also pretty sure I've never seen this before.

I've given out too much rep already today, but I'll def be repping this thread tomorrow for a great idea

this is pointless because when deadly poison reaches 5 stacks every hit with deadly poison causes the other poison you are using to proc, so this would result in a dps loss due to cooldowns

Please read the tooltip for Deadly Poison -- Deadly Poison IX - Item - World of Warcraft

The guide you wrote up was useful pre-3.3 (I believe), where that method did infact boost your DPS, although it was done much easier using an addon written specifically for this purpose. However, when 3.3 dropped, they modified Deadly Poison to essentially accomplish the exact same thing, thus making this built into the rotation instead of something you had to go out of your way to do.
