Great guide! +rep!
Great guide! +rep!
Let me as the OP clarify a few things.
1. This is a part of a series explaining Social Engineering. This is meerly the intro to it. The psychologics behind it I will explain as I am still writing the rest of the 5 part series.
2. No U. Your obviously oblivious to the simple things. You might wonder what the first name will do for you. Simply put it allows you to do a multitude of things. Heres a few examples.
A. When you create an email to send back and forth traffic, when you register the email, use the account owners first name, and last name be Blank or the First character. When you send out emails, the name will be XXX X <[email protected]>
B. When you call a second time, your name is Chris.
3. People will hand you all kinds of information. Right now already, this thread knows you worked XXX for XXX amount of time in a call center. Why would that be helpful? I dont know reveal how things really operate so we can exploit it later as a whitehat research, so we know what really goes on. Point proven you just proved a theory without knowing it. People reveal stupid information that is actually not useless.
4. You don't know me. I can also tell you haven't been here or contributed here much. Therefor how do you know what I CANNOT and CAN accomplish. Please tell me where to put the plate of food so I can feed you since you ride my ass 24/7 and know everything about what I do.
Thanks.
Still working :-P
A great read, I enjoyed it. For those of you saying social engineering doesn't work this way, you maybe right but open your minds. There are plenty of other ways to use this and believe me there are. Outside of WoW and more. It's not my cup of tea though and I don't know enough about it to give it a laugh.
Okay - I have something I'd like a bit of help with.
I started playing WoW in 2006. I had a hunter that I got to level 60 just before BC came out. I got it to level 64, then sold the account. The person I sold it to got it to level 70, and got hacked/permabanned. The toon still shows up on the Armory, but when I try to click it, it says the character cannot be found. Since they aren't making any use of the account, I would like to try to get it back. The problem is that I have a current account, so I can't use the 'I stopped playing, then came back, and my account is banned." excuse, because they have my name and phone number on record. Atleast, I assume they would, since I've called before.
So, I'm asking if there's any way to 'bend the truth' and get my old account back. Thanks in advance.
Id just ring blizzard, play dumb (like a redneck with brain injury) and say your brother wants to return to wow, his account has been inactive since pre tbc and your information is no longer accepted blah blah. If you keep polite, act daft and even throw in some heart string pullers (like he has just lost his legs so can only play games these days lol) you will prob be sucessful. I have managed to get 2 accounts back from the dead by being polite and bullshitting as appropriate.
Good luck with it!!
R.I.P Skuddle
