takes very long time for this.

you have to wait for quere, wait to get to bosses ( some groups are terrible), down the boss, etc.

stay at AH and take advantage of prices/professions is much faster.

You should really learn to read -.- i said WHEN your doing random hc's. Alot of new level 80's are doing heroics a whole week to farm 400+ emblems to get rings, cloak, tier 9, trinkets. And while your doing this, you can afford sockets, and enchants aswell by using this trick.

And its REALLY REALLY rare that everyone leaves group before items are rolled for.

This doesn't work. If the people leave after pressing the need/greed/disenchant buttons but before you press your need/greed/disenchant button, the game will still roll for them. If they win, you cannot get the loot.

It'd be faster to just roll.
