As most of you know, the solo farming has been pretty much nerfed and made impossible, since the hilt doesn't drop from non-elite mobs anymore. This gives us 2 options to farm.
Option #1
If you have enough friends, make a party and run through Pit of Saron, kill all the elite mobs (but skip the bosses) and when you're done with that just leave the instance and repeat.
Halls Of Reflection is another way to do it, but there you have to wipe on the first boss, so you don't get saved. After that start from wave 1 and repeat.
In Forge of Souls you can also clear everything untill the first boss, leave and repeat.
Option #2
You have no friends on this realm or no one is willing to do that with you. The concept is absolutely the same, but there is the possibility that if the hilt drops, you will loose the drop. So i highly suggest option #1, since there you can arrange the hilts when they drop.
Setback#1
Well this is the only setback i found so far using that method. When you enter the instance, you have 15 minutes debuff, which doesn't allow you to enter another instances. Depending on your run speed the wait time can be a pain in the ass.
To fix that, you can switch characters in between the runs, if you have more than one.
When i was farming it with PUG, for some odd reason my character didn't got that debuff in any of the instances that i entered. I am not sure, but there is the possibility that i didn't get it because i got kicked out of 1 instance "because of inactivity" by the other members of the party. I am not sure if this has anything to do, with me not receiving the debuff, but it is the most reasonable explanation.
AND REMEMBER:
The non-elite skeletons in Pit Of Saron no longer drop the hilt. Don''t bother solofarming them.
Edit: Just sold my second hilt for 20k gold, that i farmed with that method ^_^
